  1. not at all  - the mite spreys are very safe but if you treat, you need to clean the cage and treat any other birds who have contact with the baby as they will reinfect her (if she has them). they are transferred via close contact and loose feathers.
  2. The mites tend to be in the flight and tail feathers. They are easiest to see on a white feather... sometimes you can see them on the darker feathers. they sit between the feather bits (dont know what they are called hehe) so you will notice an inconsistency if they are there.
  3. Yeah the mites are very contagious between birds. - had them through my flock a few months ago. if you find any, you need to treat everyone and all yuor cages, boxes and perches too - and real headache
  4. Good to hear Check her for feather mits too... Here is a link for what to look for ---> Here. the little mites can cause excess preening and stress and are barely noticeable unless you know what you are looking for.
  5. I had to crop feed one of my babies as she wasnt eating and was looking puffy and sleepy. What colour is your babies poos? is there any staining around the vent?
  6. She is stunning!! It's quite normal for new birds to not eat for a day or two. you have her food at perch height, so she will eat soon If she gets green runny poop then you will need to do something, but until then i'm sure she will eat when your not looking. A Millet spray at perch height also helps
