  5. WOW That last boy is amazing
  6. I am so sorry to hear your Chomp is sick. trichomonas commonly known as Canker is quite common and easily treated. I have had a few birds get it during quarantine as its often brought out by stress. Ronivet is a very effective treatment. Macrorhabdus, also known as Mega or Avian Gastric Yeast, is a secondary infection which is often dormant in a bird until they get sick with something else. Provided the Mega hasn't caused internal bleeding etc, Chomp should make a full recovery under the vets care.

Thanks Kaz When i first put the babies in there they didn't know how to fly up at first. it was like they had to learn how to fly all over again. We still need to build the stands for the cabinets as we took out the makeshift benches they were on before. Hoping to get them done soon so we can reposition the cabinets along the flight wall

My clever Hubby (AKA 007) has been busy the last couple of days building an internal flight in the birdroom. The flight is 3m long by about 80cm wide and 180cm high (at the low side) and it is designed to build the strength of the chicks and resting parents before going into the external flight
  10. That would be so cool if the last chick is a greywing
  11. As the breeders in the UK state. "provided the drinkers dont freeze, the birds will be fine" Budgies are very tough to weather... what they can't handle is large fluctuations in temperature. Make sure the covered avairy doesn't get too hot through the day. Hot days and cold nights will knock them around. Keeping the aviary dry is much more important than warmth
  12. I love the cock bird!! He's very handsome!!
  13. Great photos Pearce! Its wonderful watching the little guys grow
  14. Looks like the foster will end up with 6 chicks (3 from Renee's and 3 from Long Cocks). That pair cant raise 9 all on their own
  15. 3 chicks to this pair so far. 3 to go. Foster on standby, but Renee is going strong so far and the pellets in the box keeps her really happy 9/9 eggs fertile to this pair
  16. According to my standard, you can show her as recessive pied as spangle is included in the accepted varieties.

The throat spots and mask on the hen are stunning!! I hope they come through on the chick too
  18. gorgeous bubs! I love the grey spangle
  19. Very interesting Kaz! i have not seen one of these new opaline spangles. i love the dark spangles as normally the opaline washes them out The cock bird looks opaline spangle to me too. So that would be where the opaline came from. Cocks are often split for opaline too which produces opaline hens.
  20. **Liv** replied to a post in a topic in Budgie Behaviour
the behaviour is normal for males. 99% of the time a male budgie will have no troubles bonding to a hen after having a "boyfriend" - however gay budgies do exist... but many are happy to swing both ways
  21. Oh thank goodness!!! That is so lucky! Omelettes chicks are so tough!
  22. **Liv** replied to **KAZ**'s topic in Budgie Pictures
She is maturing to be stunning!!!!
  23. **Liv** replied to a post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
Hens in peak conditions physically to breed... doesn't always mean they are emotionally ready. Emotional and behavioral issues are major problems with hens, but many can be managed if caught early and treated right.
  24. WOW!! I nearly fell over backwards when i got your sms! I cant believe all the things she is poping out with this boy. he must be her match made in heaven. I love watching her babies grow!!!!!
