Getting A New Cage
if the bar spacing is under 13mm at the VERY most, then you will be okay :hap: . any bigger and you will back where you started Also, Take a tape measure with you and check the spacing for yourself, don't take their word for it because they often get it wrong

What a relief!! That is brilliant news!!

Halfsiders
That is very cool - two birds in one - WOW!! My understanding is The halfsider is not a genetic thing, but as a result of an injury to the developing embryo. so that person will not breed halfsiders from thoes birds. Very interesting

Getting A New Cage
Looks like the wire spacing will be too wide. Cockatiels are about twice the size of budgies You will need to find a cage with wire spacing of 10mm - 13mm

It Is 1 Month We Have A Budgie...
Some breeders do it that way as it alows the wing to keep its nice long look. The "Strips" feathers are called primary flight feathers :hap: Here is a topic all about wing clips - with pictures :hap: ---> HERE

Did My Budgie Just Vomit? Is It Serious
Sleeping on two legs rather than one can also be a first subtitle sign on illness.......
-
1 Day Old Baby
having other birds land on top of the cabinets will disturb the breeding birds. Its best to divide the aviary - put up a wire wall with a door then your cabinets behind it

Harmony At Last In The Aviary.
So pleased they are working it out Latte's sister, who is out in the aviary has started moulting early too. I don't know if its because of the cooler weather or because of the seed change that happened about 4 weeks ago. Did your babies get different seed at Dave's place??? It could be a diet induced moult.

Did My Budgie Just Vomit? Is It Serious
Vomiting can be serious! If you see any other sign of illness please take him straight to the vet - because birds hide illness so well, even a hint that something is wrong is best treated with caution. Vomiting budgies show matting of the feathers on the "chin" and also on the top of the head as they flick their beak while being sick. Vomit may also be seen on the walls of the cage and in seed bowls.

What Do You Use To Worm Your Birds?
I use Moxidectin. active ingrediant is Moxidectin 2mg/ml It's brilliant stuff. Very safe to use during breeding, moulting and times of stress. It kills EVERYTHING that feeds off the birds body fluids - worms, mites, scaly face mites, leg mites etc Also given via their drinking water or direct to crop 0.25ml per 400g body weight

How Often Should I Worm My Avairy Birds?
I do mine every 3 months too

1 Day Old Baby
Sounds like you might have a tough job on your hands as budgies will abandon babies if they are disturbed too much. do you have any other hens who have eggs or young chicks who can foster the baby?? (((((Hugs))))) i hope the little one makes it

How Long To Leave A Hen?
My understanding is that 'resting' means to be away from breeding, rather than physical rest. I normally rest my hens after 2 rounds for 3 months and they rest in the main aviary (with no nest boxes) . I'd say your hen is ready to join the others

Training Budgies

It Is 1 Month We Have A Budgie...
Here is your picture of Cookie  I still feel Cookie is completely normal! The fact that you are home with him/her all day also proves that there are no boredom issues. Cookie is just adjusting to being a pet. Baby budgies are not automatically tame, and the fact that Cookie is as tame as he is already shows great progress. just keep up what you are doing and you will have a lovely playful and cheeky budgie :rip: The only other thing to suggest is to have Cookies wings clipped again to remove the long flight feather that remains - his wings would be uncomfortable like they are and could be making him cranky
