Bed Time
My budgies would not be very impressed with me if I put them to bed now. They are currently flying round the room and chirping. And one of them is trying to court the curtain? :hap: Mine would be very put out if it put them to be at sun down too. :hap: The cheeky little guys (3 of them) make so much noise when i am trying to watch TV and i have the 2 cockatiels fighting over which shoulder to sit on. My birds are quite active and playful at this time of night while all their relatives in the aviary sleep

Bed Time
My lot go to bed about 8:30pm - i cover them up and turn off the light so i can watch TV in peace hahaha. They get up about 7:30am and They all do fine with 11 hours sleep If for what ever reason they get a late night, they just tend to be a bit quieter the next day

Hmmm Just Wondering
Before i joined here I have had the odd (pet type) hen go down with a clutch at a younger age (about 9 months) with no issues, but since being on here I am better budgie educated and i now do not breed hens until they are 12 months

Whats Wrong With My Bird?
The clip you did looks great to me. I agree with Kaz. I dont like to leave the outside primary flights eather. If he is fine now, then it was probably just a minor strain or his way of showing some discomfort after the wing clip

Unbelievable!
Hmmm. The feather loss could be due to French Moult or Viral plumage disease but a vet should have ruled these out ??? A photo will help greatly

Food Stuck Under Beaks
One of my hens did this to her two chicks last summer - i had to pick out food every day or so. I couldn't find a cause, it was just her feeding technique i think.

Aviary Wire
If someone was bidding against you, the sellerr might allow the next highest bidder to get the wire instead. Some eBay sellers can be very VERY rude about changes of mind etc. Some even leave negative feedback etc - just tread carefully when dealing with the seller

Whats Wrong With My Bird?
if he can't fold his wing back he might be a bit scared too or he might have his cut flight feathers stuck over the top of the secondary feathers, or he might have an injury from being clipped - Who did the clip??? Did he resist a lot when being clipped???

Whats Wrong With My Bird?
Mine all do that for a few days after i clip their wings Your bird is completely normal and just getting used to being clipped - I would imagine it feels quite odd for them at first. He would be finding it irritating and i bet his wings are twitching too, They often preen their wings a lot too when they are freshly clipped. It's all quite normal

Budgie Breeding Help?
They all need more than just seed to breed properly. your friends birds probably have a vitamin deficiency and would cause the egg tossing behavior - are they eating the eggs too??? Keep trying with veggies everyday, try different ways of presenting it. mine like their veggies whole and uncooked - Some breeders grate/dice their veggies. You can also soak soup mix over night..... mmmmmm mine go nuts for soaked soup mix. Just keep on trying and one day they WILL eat their vegies  she ate the eggs Bailey and George eat tiny bits of cooked sweetcorn and they eat orange and Lumina eats any thing you put in her sight egg eating is a vitamin deficiency. She needs to stop her birds from breeding immediately as its just creating stress and compounding the vitamin deficiency further. At this point I feel they need a boost of vitamins on top of a good diet of fresh foods. Your friend needs to give a water soluble vitamin supplement (according to the directions on the bottle) and fresh foods (if the supplement allows it)

Budgie Breeding Help?
There are so many things it could be. Diet, cage size, bird condition, health issues, hormonal issues , behavorual issues I would say your friend needs to remove the nest box for a month, and try them again after a break - hopefully it will break the cycle. Oh, and while they are having a break, ensure they are getting lots of fresh food and vegies to get them in peek condition before breeding again.

Budgie Breeding Help?
She will If she really REALLY didn't want him, she would get VERY aggressive, or completely ignore him. It sounds like things are going just fine with your two though  Do you have a photo??

Budgie Breeding Help?
The "kicking" is him trying to mount her to mate. Her moving away is quite normal, but when she is ready she will squat down on the perch and raise her tail, then he will climb on her back and they will mate
