  1. I am new to cabinet breeding and I am planning to start my first pairs in 8 weeks or so. Up until now i have always colony bred and my aviary is just outside my window where i can see and hear EVERYTHING that goes on. My bird room however, is right around the other side of the house, in a spot where i will not be able to see or hear the birds. This worries me as I won't be able to provide the quality supervision i have in the past I am thinking about installing a wireless camera that streams to my PC, or at least baby monitor so i can hear them.....????? What do other breeders with bird rooms do to keep and eye on their birds???
  2. AWWWwww he sounds lovely I really hope you find your cable

She is beautiful I was just wondering what is her average daily routine?? eg. Wake up time, home alone time, bed time, play time etc
  4. BRILLIANT SHOTS!!!! What camera do you use?? do you edit the photos to create the (really cool) blur, or is it your cameras focus???

I agree. what a cutie It's so nice how children follow their parents interests - I would like to think my two will be interested in budgies too when they grow up
  6. That is really sweet. What do you walk through to get to your aviary??? Looks to me like they can taste something yummy on your shoes. do you walk though fresh grass or soil etc on the way to visit them????
  7. How long has the new bird been with Declan??? He might just be getting used to his new housemate
  8. I'm so sorry I'm can't even begin to understand how sad you must be right now. Biggest HUGS from me.
  9. WOW What a plan!!! I look forward to watching your progress. The only suggestions i would make is to add a screen door for ventilation. I have been told that fluro lights are fine for adding light and you can put them on a timer so the birds have more light hours, just like summer The lights would also be A LOT cheaper than ALLLLLLL the $$$$$$$$$$$ you would spend on the glass doors If you are going to paint i would say a nice natural green would make the budgies feel most comfortable
  10. They look great Maesie Thanks for the great photos The second picture is SOOOOOO cute!!! Looks like the little chick is trying to hide "Aww Mum! I havent got any feathers yet."
  11. Hi AV. I read this topic last night but what those kids did made to so angry and disgusted that i couldn't find the appropriate words to post OMG!! those kids need to be punished properly, rather than just given a slap on the wrist from their school !! animal curtly is often the beginnings of serious criminals or even murderers! Well done AV for saving Sky. you are a true :angel1:

Is that safe to let your dogs eat them...??? what about diseases and parasites ??? The thing is, Liv...they eat anything they catch through the night anyway and they are our ratters and mousers. We dont use poisons, so I guess its safe. She leaves the stomach and liver and doesnt eat that part. EWWWWwwwwww.... **Yucky mental images** They must have good imune systems and you must have a stronger stomach than I do

They are lovely photos! I love the tiger I agree about the cold - i think its time to migrate to Canada for the winter Thanks for sharing and i look forward to your other pictures
  23. Persoally i would get her a male. Male/Male relationships work very well Male/Female relationships work very well Female/Female is not so good - they tend to boss each other around. If you dont give them ANYTHING that looks like a nest then they shouldn't breed - I have an aviary full of boys and girls, but because there is no nests, any budgie sex does not lead to eggs
  24. AWWWwwww thats adorable ...and thats why we budgies
  25. OMG what a day!!! ((((HUGS)))) Well done for speaking up in the pet shop! I hope everything goes well with Storm and your new budgie. (((Hugs))) I hope you have a MUCH better day tomorrow Liv
