Lettuce is not toxic, just doesn't have any good properties in it so its not worth feeding it to them. The cabbage is not going to kill them, but could make them feel yucky enough not to breed.

There are lots of fantastic breeders right on your doorstep in WA. Kaz is one - PM her and see if she has any available for sale at the moment She will be fine in the box - its normal for her to sit in there all day and night. She will stay in there once the eggs hatch too. As long as the male is feeding her well, she will be fine. As SW said, dont remove the eggs until at least 30 days after they were laid.

I am not a show breeder, but to me it sounds like you are doing everything right. I would cover the entrance of each nest boxe for a few days. I have heard this is a very effective way to get eggs happening I would also give calcivet in their water on the days you give normal water too so they have a calcium supplement every day. Finally, remove the cabbage (cabbage is toxic) from the diet and replace with carrot There is nothing at all wrong with your questions by the way

Has she got a loose feather in her wings?? It could also be a blood feather that coming though and causing her pain. She may have strained her wing. She could have a feather cyst or it could be weakness as a result of an illness. You are doing the right thing keeping her inside and keeping her warm. Keep a close eye on her, if she gets worse or shows any other signs of sickness she will need to see the vet.
