My Cage Progress
We are here to help - and we love lots of questions so feel free to ask as many as you like Are you going to leave the aviary in the long ways position?? It will be better if you do as it gives the birds lots more room to fly. Will you be raising it off the ground? You also need to consider mouse and rat proofing. The perches should be branches from native (nontoxic) trees and you can poke them through the wire or use wire/rope etc to tie them in place.

My Cage Progress
Hello and welcome Do you know what the wood is made from?? Also, if it is stained/painted/varnished then it is not suitable as the birds will chew the wood. For the bottom of your aviary, you could put sand, kitty litter or paper. You will need to clean it weekly as a build up of poo will create moulds and bacteria to grow which will make your birds sick.

Art Or Is It?
Personally, I think if everyone is consenting and the minor is not being made to look provocative in any way, then i feel there is nothing wrong with a painting of a naked child/preteen. I am not an arty person, but i do appreciate the human form. What disturbs me is when they put 13-14 year olds on catwalks and in magazines making them look like super attractive (and sexy) adults - that to me is wrong

Psittacosis In Humans
Neat, if you had a carrier amongst your flock, you would have a lot of sick/dead birds before you got sick.

Hi, Newbie And..
The actual foot and leg looks really good. Circulation is great and i don't see much (if any) bruising or swelling. When the plaster comes off you will have a much better idea of how his leg has healed as at the moment the plaster would be making it hard to move and use. when you place your finger under his foot, will he grab it???

Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
This is not a sensitive question at all. A budgie i belive only has enough sperm for one fertile mating per day. if his "ammo" lands on the perch then he will be shooting blanks there after. If he has a sweet spot on a particular perch i would take it out and replace it with something different - perhaps a natural branch or a rope one etc. It might take his mind off it and get him more interested in his hen

Hi, Newbie And..
I am not exactly sure how long the bones take to heal, but its about 14 days or so from memory?? He may have nerve damage caused by the accident. Wait until the plaster is off and if the bone has set right you could try some physio with him to hopefully get his leg back in action. If all else fails, he will be fine with one good leg - a number of us have disabled budgies and they all go great with their impairments

What's Your Opinion?
Food colouring Jenene By the time the new owners notice, they will have fallen in love with the feathered bub and it will be too late  **makes note to give any budgie purchased from Kaz or Janene a bath before paying**

Someone Else's Opinion Please!
I have heard so many people complain about the price of school concert tickets!!! Many parents who have put their own money, blood, sweat and tears into costumes and set creation etc have still be expected to pay admission. Grrrrr So frustrating!! Paying $12 for a under school age child, and the children who are participating in the concert sounds unfair to me. I hope you can work something out.

Vomiting
Would raspberry cordial help in this case???
-
What's Your Opinion?
Brilliant Kaz!! I was wondering where the gender questions are meant to go too. Now its clear :hap:
-
Vomiting
I agree too. Vomiting is a side to side action which splatters the expelled seed all over the cage and the bird. Regurgitation is an up and down movement which doesn't create too' much mess. If its vomiting she will need to see a vet tomorrow to find the cause
-
What's Your Opinion?
I am not real sure. I say a hen too, but Kaz is the expert with the young ones

To Leave Or Not To Leave
