Do Some Opaline Markings Show On Split Birds?
This boy and his 3 brothers have all finished their first moult and some opaline markings have come though on the tops of their wings. I always knew they are split for opaline as their mother is opaline, but i didn't know they would show markings. It it normal for opaline splits to show some opalining in their wings????

Not Sure About This One
Opaline is sex linked so it could have only come from the male.... spangle is dominant and can be split for opaline
-
Outcome?
Split to split you would get 25% normals, 25% dilutes and 50% split to dilute Split to Dilute you would get 50% splits and 50% dilutes hahaha snap libby - you are too quick for me Our secret -----> HERE

Outcome?
My table says you should get 50% normals and 50% normal split for dilutes No i take that back.... Looked at the wrong paring. 100% split

Hen Won't Lay
deprivation Perhaps remove the cock for a week and see what happens when she has him back

Budgie Mood ?
moulting is an itchy process that lasts a number of weeks, normally budgies preen each other thought the moulting process but as she is alone she will use her toys and perches etc to remove the sheath from her new feathers. Do you have any photos you can post??

Hen Won't Lay
Which is why she could be infertile.... Or maybe she is just enjoying practicing too much

It Didn't Work...
She is definitely out of condition and needs a long rest (at least 3-6 months) They both have cut flight feathers which could have caused issues with mating as the cock uses his wings for balance when on the hen

My First Cabinet Pairs.
Hooray!! Spring has arrived and I have finally put my six breeding pairs in their cabinets My setup is nothing special, but i hope it works all the same :nest: This is the view from the outside of the breeding room, and the kindy cage which is only housing weeds at the moment This is what it looks like in side. I have the cages up on trestles (sp??) There is a fluro light on a timer to mimic summer daylight hours. The birds have been in here for about 2 weeks and they are all seeming pretty relaxed with their partners. Lady and Barney (bottom cage) have the biggest cage because she is "claustrophobic" - they seem to be happy in there and Lady is investigating the nest box The pair in the top cage are showing no interest yet The hens in both these cages are already in the box too The hen in the bottom cage was trying to get into the nest box before i had even cut the bars away :hap: These two cages are showing some interest too, but are not as excited as the others are. They have only had the boxes for 2 days now so if there is any changes i need to make to the set up, now it the time to make them. Let me know if you see anything i should change I am really excited about my first cabinet breeding and i hope there will be lots of success

I drew a blank - That can't be a good sign

Broken Leg
Poor budgie I also think you should visit an avian vet. If your budgie is struggling with the way it healed like you say it is, then the vet may re-break the leg (under anesthesia) and set it properly.
