Sorry for the confusion thats supposed to be 4-5 weeks old... i have no idea where 8 weeks came from must be mondayitis..... oh wait its tuesday

Yeah she has been eating hahahaha she hasnt made it to 8 weeks on her own heehee, how do i know if her crop is empty, i know when its full i can feel it, do i just assume when i cant feel it its empty? Im really keen to do the right thing and thats why im asking so many questions:) maybe someone would like to chat to me on msn? mite be easier? pm for details thanks

Thanks Kaz yeah i sort of do have two topics that where about different things which is now the same (now im confused heehee). So i have fb ( need too think of a name...) inside now, the parentls havent called for her nor has she them. My question is how often to i need to feed her? at the moment her crop is full so im guessing not for a few hours but how often after that? every 6 hours? Thanks Again :hap: i really appreciate it

There is only one chick, approx 4-5 weeks old, i have wood shavings in there and the cage is protected by a bamboo blind and it gets covered with an old cotton doona cover

Theres no other babies or eggs at the moment. Do you guys think taking her out of the cage for a long period to check her wounds and see if she will eat would be a bad thing? i just dont want to leave her in there and hae something bad happen to her :S

okay, dads going to have check her at lunch time, if i can get away ill go have a look too. what do i do if she is out of the box again? should i take her inside and put her somewhere warm untill i get home? Thanks Guys Also too the hens cere is starting to go lighter and go around the nostrils very light brown

should i be concerned that mum doesnt seem to be getting in the box at night time? Its been dropping down to about 8 degrees or lower at night here... What should i do??

Hey everyone, got home this afternoon and fb (fuzzball) had gotten out of the box and was tucked in next to it (my other half found him when he got home). So he put fb back n the box and mum has been caring for him/her. He has some blood on the base of his tail but its stopped bleeding now. I was just wondering what age they usually start to try leave the box? Maybe one of the breeders could put up a chick timeline of what to expect at week intervils for those less experianced and have it pinned? Thanks alot

Hey everyone, here are some pics of the rest of my flock, my ringnecks and a bit of a description about them, enjoy Tish is Ruski she is approx 2 years old, she is a green lacewing. She is rather friendly for a bird that was untame when i bought her a few months ago.If you say hello she will say hello back in her own way. Im looking forward to her having a good moult as she has a lot of broken feathers from being kept in a display box. http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee247/r...grl/pic8002.jpg Next we have Nibbler, he is ( i think its a he, but i wont really know for another year) nearly a year old and he is a little cuddle bug. Im trying to handle her and get her tame but its hard she can bite really hard.
