My Babies
Back again gorgeous ppl!!! This time to show off my little pals. For anyone with time, interest and the patience to have a look at 30+ pics. I only have a camera phone so some pics are not the best quality. They are also a bit backwards as there are photos of Chuckles a few days old are on the 2nd page. I hope the link works (never used photobucket before). http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x31/Mission_Impossible/? (If it did) Can anyone tell what type they are? (Kimi's wings are actually a medium/pale brown colour, same as the speckles around her cheeks, which the photos dont seem to show the colour too well). Being inexperienced and trying to learn as much as I can about my new friends. I am concerned about her inability to fly, is this just that she is young? Could it be her feathers (I noticed after getting her home she only had 2 long ones on each side. Will she grow more? Ive had her 2-3 weeks, she tries and can maybe go a few feet and get just above ankle height. She can run like the wind tho, Chuckles has to fly after her to keep up. I have not had her wings clipped as I prefer to let them fly free as much as possible. Otherwise she seems content and well.

Mission Impossible, Chuckles, Kimi
Hey gorgeous ppl!!! Introducing me. I am new to bird ownership. Always owned cats in my life. Still have 2 of them. and my lil darlings My first budgie, Chuckles, given to me 4 months ago. Body medium grey colour, dark grey cheek feathers, large black spots under those, white face mask, very black and white wings. He was a very young bird, undable to fly fully when I got him but he soon became the biggest personality in the house. He is afraid of NO-ONE. He will fly to everyones shoulder for a chat whether hes seen you before or not. Talking of chat, yes he talks!!! Amongst his budgie chirps he randomly spits out a mixture of wolf whistles, "hello", "goodmorning", "good boy", "what ya doing", "whos a gorgeous boy" (often followed by) "chuckles". He is esecially talkative in his sleep. He loves a shower, chasing the dishcloth as I wipe benches, doing laps of the house excitedly, brocoli and mashed potato (but only off my plate or a spoon). He also loves Miss Kimi so it seems. She (I think, I hope) came 2 weeks ago. A gorgeous aqua colour body, bright purple cheek feathers, small light brown speckles under them with light brown and creamy-white colour wings. Quite possibly the quietest bird Ive ever seen (as long as Chuckles isnt around. She is also a very young bird. Still unable to fly well. When I have one on one time with her she just sits ever so quietly where ever I put her .. whether it be my hand or shoulder (if I put her down she will try to get back to be on me), and pretty much will stay put until she wants a feed. I have to help her alot as she tries to fly but never quite makes it to where shes trying to get to. Occasionally I can hear feint clicking sounds coming from her. She loves a pat and scratch (unlike chuckles who HATES it by humans but hasnt seemed to mind Miss Kimi who has in the past few days had a go at preening him back). No problems with the 2 getting along at all ( Chuckles almost gets way over excited at times) , he's fed and preened her from day 1, even through the cage, altho he bites me hard when Im trying to play with them both together. Yesterday was real bad, tried the wobble trick but he just bit in harder. Thisafternoon he doesnt seem to be biting as hard or as often. I guess he is trying to tell me Kimi is his girl and to back off. I am hoping with more shared contact he will learn not to bite my hand. They are caged separately in my room overnight as I keep my cats indoors also (a fine balnce of swaping sides of the house between animals hahaha) , although Chuckles spends quite alot of time out of his cage free flying around when Im home. I still keep Kimi in her cage a fair bit as she is so young and dont want Chuckles getting too heavy with her. I have no idea how long I should keep it that way tho. The rest I am learning as I go .... but I have to say I never realised such little animals could be so intelligent and interesting to have as close pets.
