  5. I'm waiting to see the beautiful lacewings too!
  6. Ewwwww, I can imagine! They make my skin crawl. I'd rather a whitetail or red back on me then a huntsman... even though they are harmfull/deadly... I think it's the fact they are huge and hairy!!!! We have plenty of red backs too

Good luck with your new flooring Maesie :(Laughing out loud): You've got nice weather to do it.
  8. I use the white/green feeders in the avairies and seed dishes in the cages too. What are the pedestal feederes Kaz, I haven't heard of them?
  9. She is exactly the color in the photo, her cheek patches are a slate color if that's any help?
  10. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?? :budgiedance: Thanks Elly, it's not a very good picture of him he is more a jade color than in this picture (the color is better in this photo below). He flew into our backyard las year and we put up posters everywhere and no one claimed him so we kept him.
  11. I used to do that too Kaz... untill a family of huntsmen decided to move in :budgiedance: Needless to say it was gone quick smart and I'll be forever greatful to my Dad for doing the job!!! Know what you mean about huntsmen Maesie, we have hundreds out here and I still hate them.
  12. She really is a 'Cutie" :budgiedance:
  13. This is our little Pearl that was born last November and has changed a bit after her moult so I wanted to know if she would still be classed as a Yellowface Type 2 Violet Dilute?

  15. Sorry I was going to put them on last night but as I have slipped 2 discs in my back I can't sit for long. I'll put them on now. He/she has funny feet (I think maybe they are like Liv's Scooter that she rescued from the pet shop?) Trying to run away from me in this one...(Laughing out loud)

I have a hen that kept throwing all nesting things out of the nest and the chicks would get dirty, so I tried sand (from the kids sandpit) as a last resort. It worked, she threw some out but the rest that stayed in there kept the bottom of the box clean.
  17. Ours is 5 weeks old now (should have fledged by now) but she's just getting her feathers and looks like she was the foster egg and not the cock's that's been feeding her all this time
  18. He is a beautiful little budgie and very lucky to find you and a loving home
  19. Isn't it amazing.....I am sitting here scratching away too reading this. Good luck with treating your bird.
  20. I just love this little grey green spangle, so gorgeous Looking forward to your updates. We have only had blue series chicks hatched so far and I am very excited that our first green hen laid an egg today so I have fingers crossed it will be fertile.
  21. Sorry I can't help you, I just buy the split rings from ebay. If I remember correctly all the rings in all the states are the same color for each year and you'd have to ring the budgerigar club to find out the information on the rings.
