  1. Thanks for all your comments. We now have him back he has come alot better then he previously was. He is still fairly unbalance but can perch properly so we hope he will get even better over the next few days. They are both happy to be back together and we have some cushions on the bottom of the cage incase he falls. I will let you know how he goes over the next few days and how he recovers. Thanks for all your help
  2. Thanks for all your comments. We have taken him off to the vet today and they think it could be a number of things due to his diet change. They said it could be a stroke etc but the part that doesnt match up is the fact he has had this occur a few times but nowhere near as bad. He seems unable to be able to control one side of his body and moves his head really quickly. He is not sick or in pain but something is definatly wrong. They are going to hold him for three days to see if he recovers if not he may need to be put down if he can't recover. Hopefully it doesn't come to this and he recovers. Our other budgie is restless since he has left and continually flys around the room to different spots looking for him. I will let you all know how it goes and I hope so much he makes a recovery
  3. Thanks for your reply. He has had too many drugs to list but two recent ones I have on my desk are METACAM BAYTRIL He is in his little heatbox now but to be honest he looks out of it like he is spastic/mental or there is somethign wrong with his brain. He just climbs around falling down and moving his head around quickly like there is something very wrong up top. If he gets through the night without breaking his neck I will have him down first thing tomorrow. Is there much that can be done to help get them over the night?
  4. Hi I am just new to this forum and was hoping you could help me with a problem. We have two budgies one male (6-7yrs old) and one female (3-4yrs old) who have recently gone to the vet. They have undergone blood tests etc to get everything in shape and have shifted to the new pellat seed roudybush. The male budgie has had all sorts of medicine to repair his liver and drop his weight (he was around 56g now around 48g). The problem has come now where he has lost interest in everything over time and has become very sleepy. We have taken him to the vet and they have advised us he has swollen testicles for which he is now undergoing weekly needles. Just lately he has started having cramps in one side of his body its like he cant walk on one leg at all and is unable to use it. This has been happening every now and then but has become more frequent. Today he has developed the problem seriously and is in a very bad state. Is there anything anyone can suggest this might be? We have him in a hotbox with a lamp and heater and some water/seed but he appears to be in bad shape. The cramps usually go fairly quickly but after a few hours this one wont go and appears to be getting worse. Can anyone recommend what this may be? I feel it may be related to the pellats as ever since we have changed him onto them he has gone backwards however the female budgee is going excellent. Any advice would be great as I am not sure if he will even make it through the night.
