Can Budgies Live Wih Other Birds?
Don't Panic. I've got enough cages and dividers to shuffle my budgies around as needs be. :yellowhead: Half of the budgies socialising are still juvenille, but even so, the idea of the triple breeder-box is to allow optional nesting choices and ultimately I'd probably only leave a maximum of 2 pairs together (assuming that they were okay with that). The first obvious pairing had already been removed to a designated breeding cage, and generally I don't even allow males and females together unless I'm looking for natural selection of pairs. They cam be moodie B's though, can't they?

Can Budgies Live Wih Other Birds?
Hi Yeah I tried mixing Budgies and Zebras a few years back, now. I thought that they got along fine too, but...... every now and then, you'd notice a Zebbie missing a toe ... a foot.... or a whole leg :yellowhead: So..... keep an eye on them Of course people will tell you different things about various species of birds. I expect that the larger the territory availble to be shared, the better. Just this afternoon, I've opened the divider between some of my budgies and two cockateils (so that I could add a tripple breeding box setup to the budgie side). They ain't so concerned with each other at the moment, and it's a little hard to simple tell them "all of you over that side, now". I'll probably have to net one of the cockateils to sepparate them later. But for now they seem happy enough with the socialisation. [touch wood]

Just join the 4 of them together ;)Or do what I do and don't have "aviaries" - just have bloody big "cages". :(Laughing out loud): If you merge 20 and 50, you get 70 That would only be fair.I've heard a lot of people are excited about the Caboolture.Redcliffe.And.Pine. Shire Council ..... oh ... and Kilcoy

Same as you We're just down near Les Hughes (where the fire was last Sunday arvo). I believe you would have copped the smoke from it. I've plugged that local meeting into my calendar - hopefully I can get to it. Definitely keen to come see the show in September, though. Patrick

Oh Cool Actually, I was wondering about the City/Shire Council and at what stage the government takes in interest in caged birds as an interest or concern for council permits as opposed to having just one or two as pets. Is there a number like 50, 100, 200? I think the most I've ever had was 36, at any one time. regards Patrick

Hey Daz, At what flock population does PRSC require Annual Permits? :book: [Just so happens, I'm in your local area too] Oh.... and quite an extraordinary effort on your little set-up there. Nice work.
