  3. thanks norm.....some good info there. KAZ.... my bird does not have mites but am just intrested in to how people stay on top of this problem. So its best to treat when mites appear and not have the birds treated all the time to prevent mites? Just re-educating my self on the problems that may occur owning Budgies again :rip: cheers Sam

Hi Scotty, and welcome :parrot: I am fairly new here too, but have found this forum to be great, lots of great info..... I am a sucker for Yfaces and spangles too
  5. I like the sky blue normal, he comes across as a nice english and second the light green spangle. But i am no expert so will see what the others have to say very nice looking birds you have
  6. KAZ......where can i get ivermectin from??? and is this something i should start putting in my babies water now? is it something you use all the time in water or only for infected birds? Sammy and "Didi"
  7. Hi, i thought i would just add my bid to this thread. If this was my budgie, dead or still alive, and not knowing what this problem is that you have had with your budgie. I would be taken it straight to a avian vet as soon as possible. Not only would it be at your best interest to find out what caused your budgie to die, but for future knowledge and prevention of it occurring again. with the knowledge and signs to look out for you will hopefully catch on to what ever it was that your budgie died of, earlier and hopefully not lose another one. As some one who breeds any type of animal. In my book the care and prevention of any diseases, illnesses and injuries that may occur is a serious matter and should be noted in a book so you can look back on your notes and realize you may have the same problem again, and dill with the problem before its to late
  8. ohhh they are so beautiful......they make my baby look so dull and boring okay.....i will have the last baby and the first hen thanks when can i come and get them
  9. you have some nice birds their....i like the little cinnamon too, very pretty they all look happy with them selves
  10. we have changed names again... this time i think this is it.."Didi" suits our lil man alot better than just plain Bluey. "Didi" is short for Didgeridoo.......I wanted a name that was Aussie but some think cute... he looks like a Didi :parrot: just an up date too.... he has settled in really well and is sitting on my hand, but haven't taken him out the cage yet, he has a fairly roomy cage which allows him to fly around and seems to fly quite well. He loves talking to the other birds out side. With the millet, he doesn't seem to interested in it, as i have been trying to use it as a training reward but isn't that keen. How can i get him interested in millet??? He loves carrot and seems to be eating well now. I bought this lovely swing made of natural stuff on ebay, its really nice and Didi seems to really like it. here are some pics..... http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wagalot/Didiwk1.jpg ">Didi enjoying having natural branches to chew on.... http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wagalot/Didi2.jpg ">emmmm I Lovvve carrot.... http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wagalot/Didi3.jpg having a stretch after a hard day of sitting on mums hand..."> http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wa...t/Didiswing.jpg Didi's new swing..."> sorry for the poor quality pics, i took them on my phone Your photos have been changed to links as they exceeded the forum's guidelines which states that images should be a maximum size of 450 x 450 pixels. 19. thanks Kaz.....I took awhile looking at this bird asking my self if i was right as far as sexing, as really wanted a boy, so i glad u think he looks like a boy too I thought using semolina, was a strange thing to give.....thats why i thought i would see what u guys thought of this method. Today i fed bub a mix of soaked seeds, mashed up budgie pellet treats and finely chopped spinach mixed together. I haven't been able to find any budgie starter yet...will check out another shop tomorrow, hopefully they have it. i have been offering small amounts by hand and he does have a taste of what i got , didnt seem to keen to have a go of the mix at the bottom of his cage(which is on a large container lid) until later today i saw him on the ground scratching around in the food, thinking he was a chicken not sure if eat any, but he had fun with it :(Laughing out loud): cheers sammy

  21. Hi guys, well yesderday i went out to look at some babies a breeder had available. I was just planning to see what she had, as she alot at different ages (most still in the nest). But i fall in love with one, and bought him home from what i can tell he is a Opaline violet (wht face)??? have to see what you guys think??. He (well least i think he is a he is only 7 weeks old and seems used to people, the breeder told me she handles them every day when cleaning out nest etc, so they are use to handling. OMG he is just soo sweet, i can't believe i have gone so long with out a Budgie in my life. Now i do have some questions.... some one told me a good thing to offer baby budgies is semolina mixed into a paste??? what are your thoughts on this? Also arrowroot biscuits are they okay to give them? (mashed with a little water) as a treat of cause. The breeder said to offer food mashed up and soaked in water and offer them food on your finger. well am going to try and up load some pics i took of him yesderday once he settled in... cheers Sammy "> http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wa...babybudgie1.jpg http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wa...babybudgie2.jpg http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/wa...babybudgie6.jpg Changed 3 photos to links as they exceed the forum guidlelines of 45o x 450 pixels.
