here are some pics. I tried to get him to perch on my finger yesterday but he/she wouldn't. I tried again to day and he/she preched on my finger for about half a second then flew off.

His cere is blue with some white. I'll take som pics as soon as i find the camera.

Hi everyone!!! Today i got my first budgie! i decided to name him Pippin. the people at the store said that he was a baby male. The bars go all the way down to his cere so i agree that he is young. He has a yellow face with two blue spots on it and a green front. i watched him for about an hour and he didn't eat anything, but, when i came back home a cuple hours later ther were some seeds scatered on the botttom of his cage. I haven't put my hand in the cage yet but he seems pretty calm when im around.

I'm in L.A. but I found a good pet store. It's a small place and not a chain but the people are very helpful and they know the ages of their budgies. I've also found some bird shops that I am going to go to but they aren't very convenent(45 min. drive)

okay when I get a budgie I will definitely keep it there thank you sooooo much!

I just thought of one more question: I plan to put my budgie in the family room so it will get the most attention and be able to watch TV (I have Heard that birds like to watch tv) but i am worried that its abbiity to talk will be ruined because it will hear a lot of random talking as well as what i want it to say. Could this ruin its ability to talk? thanks again for all the help!

I have some questions about budgies talking: 1. Will budgies usually talk if you train them to or will only some budgies talk? I've been told by some people that they have never heard of a budgie talking. 2. I've also read that males are better talkers/are easier to teach to talk/can remember more words. Are any of these true? thanks for your help!

Do you guys hae any advise on finding breeders? I tried searching internet but I didn't see any in my area.

I don't have a budgie yet but as soon as i find a breeder I will get one. (I don't want to get one from the pet shop) I hope to find a blue or green one.

Hi everyone! I have never owned a bird but decided to have one as a pet because I have friends with birds. I have got a bunch of books on books on budgies but any tips you guys have would be awesome!
