Sounds about right, the price I mean
  2. Sorry my kids are all grown up, but what about one of those leap pad things
  3. I agree with Daz . I would not buy some one elses cull that have bad traits because your just asking for trouble. I cull anything with loose wings, long flights mind you I have only ever bred one long flight bird and it and the parents all went. It mind sound harsh but I have no room for bad faults in my aviary. You can see by my birds that I am improving all the time because anything bad goes.
  4. Kaz we order ours off the supplier of the kits.
  5. Greg reckons having quail in the ayiariies helps get rid of those nasty moths, I had them but I found them a pain so gave them away.
  6. Wow I was getting really confused with this post as I thought it was a dominant pied not recessive, Thanks Neville you saved me from confusion. As i have those birds here,
  7. Well Jimmy I have yellow faces and I have never had one bleed through the wings of a normal until recently, so I was ready to cull the father and young but this judge told me because I put cinnamon to cinnamon that's why and if I put the father to a normal next time the normals if yellow face should not bleed so I have kept the dad on this advice . Actually the dad is a grey cinnamon yellow face but when I got him I thought he was a wierd grey green cinnamon colour, so I was really annoyed when I realised he was grey cinnamon yellow face but he is areal nice bird.
  8. Every one to there own but my concern is that they wouldn't get the excerise they need for there wing muscle ect. I believe they should have plenty of room to fly and exercise and any way in the wild they eat off the ground so if you keep your aiaries clean everything should be fine.
  9. I think you do need a license
  10. I have been to some breeders in Sydney who have won Nationals, and because im only starting out they have helped me out with some cracker of birds. Depending on the breeder i have paid $50 - $150 a pair. they ask you what you are wanting to achieve, and if you are joining there club they shall help you out. I saw a champion breeder the other day and got the best birds i have ever seen. THe quality this bloke has was unbelievable. i only paid $50 a pair as he was helping me out. he doesnt sell any of his birds usually unless they are at auction. Im going to be putting all of my birds down this week, so i shall take pics of them when pairing them up. Sound good have you got some pics of those birds you just bought, can you show us and make us drool
  11. I agree with Neville and Daz on this one
  12. There optional safety catches Daz, but I bought 20 to put on my cages. Haven't done it yet though
  13. What do you mean that you won't be able to get into the space, What space do you mean, like the breeding space because I was wandering how you would feed them and clean their cages.
  14. Welcome David and it so cool that you are in partnership with Liv That trip to Kaz's must of clenched the deal
  15. Tour welcome Liv :thankyou:
  16. fine sand paper Liv that would scratches easy :thankyou: actually I use a sander on mine before I make them up and then again ater but of coarse can't use the sander inside the cage but you can on the outside.
  17. I agree with Kaz, I know when I put a cage in the aviary all the birds are curious and fly up to it and hang off the wire , so if they were breeding birds, I really don't think thay would be doing much breeding as they would be constantly interupted.
  18. Looks good Liv, the hardest part is painting, I have made 11 kits up and have five more in a box, I am sooooo sick of it. Which I could send them back and get the finished product. BUT sorry didn't mean to sound grim, my first 8 were fun but it's just that I have no time now so it has become a pain. Kaz is right make sure you sand down well so it turns out nice and smooth, good luck
  19. If he is a boy he is out of condition, unless he is a girl, how old is he?
  20. Looks GREAT MB
  21. Your ring code belongs to J McKellar, from the Sale club
  22. I didn't know that there was coming up in March but Jimmy i don't think my birds are good enough for that yet because the breeders that put theie birds in Auctions are champion breeders or way up there, oR they have made names for themselves. I think
  23. If the cock is split opaline or cinnamon you will get opaline or cinnamon hens and split cocks
