I am sooooooo disappointed in my self it is not funny AT ALL! This should have been the first thing that was done once , they were settled from buying them a few weeks ago - They were wormed and had other meds during their quarantine BUT I FOR GOT THIS .... So I went yesterday and got spray as I really couldn't do the fly spray thing I don t have the heart to do that incase I do something wrong. They got treated the cage did and all the perches did too ( was pouring with rain) couldn't get new perches yet ) They are due for the Mulitvits this week - so I am hoping that his feathers improve, more I will take photos today. as I think there is improvement ON THE SITTING on his feathers now as they aren't soo scruffy looking ... So this could be a Karma thing which has me more annoyed then anything as it was only the other day i noticed him looking scruffy! But i hvae bragged about how healthy my my birds are and how i haven't had a problem in a ling time - Tsk tsk NEAT! So I'll get this fella back in to healthy condition : D
  4. If you look at her upper chest she is darker greenish there but the dilution makes it hard to discern I think that she is a Dompied Clear wing - The TCB could be there too I thought at first a dilute cinny too - As her cheek patches are a silvery lilac colour ...

Yeah i can be rather Direct!!!! I wouldn't have seen the harm in putting a stick through the cage or just telling them that i am adding an extra few stick but I assumed that it wasn't a large avairy and that putting a stick through the wire mesh would have been easy to do - :hap: I do guess the well thought out letter would be good or a phone call too - I don't think most of the time .. I just do :hap: Yep gets me in all sorts of trouble, But you get that Good luck with this -

  12. I made a Budgie Hut First get two pieces of fabric. One of good quality cotton (strong print or denim or similar) and one of polar fleece or short pile normal fleece. You will also need a length of strong cotton cord. I use a good quality piping cord. Lastly you will need a section of thin, firm plastic. A piece cut from a plastic folder or I use the side of a 4ltr ice-cream container. Cut one piece from each length of fabric; 37cms x 19cms. Using 1cm turnings, right sides together, join both pieces of fabric along longer sides. Turn to right side and press seams flat. Measure 11.5cms from one end of outer fabric and run a line of stitching straight across both layers. Insert plastic piece that forms solid base into longer end of 'tube' and run another line of stitching across fabric to seal the plastic in place. You should now have the two pieces of fabric with a solid piece stitched into the centre. Cut two 20cm lengths of cotton cord. With outer sides together, pin top seam in place. Double over each piece of cord and place inside the new tube you have made with ends poking out of seam. Pin in place approximately 5cms from each edge of hut. Stitch right along seam firmly, catching in end of cords. Finish seam well with zig zag or overlocking stitch. Turn to right side and you should have your completed Happy Hut! thumbsup.gif Remember to use bird-friendly fabrics - no long-pile fleece that could trap toes or get caught round legs. Also, make sure everything is well finished off with no tempting ends to pull at or get trapped by. It is also important to be sure that your Happy Hut is in good condition for the same reasons. Some birds will chew holes in it and that could be hazardous so check your hut regularly for your bird's safety

  16. Have they done a crop sample??? Feeling for a tumor - If they were able to test by feeling it , I would say that it is too late - Better to get a test done early so he has a chance of recovery if it is that .... I would ask for a gut sample and go from there .. Good luck

Be careful if you go for the thin Nylon as sooo many wild birds are seen with fishing line wrapped around their feet Maes is spot on with the cask wine - All the ochard and olive farmers have them up in their trees

What a fantastic Job!! You went to alot of effort to make it - But I too agree with the others, For the safety of your birds, & your heart break, you are better off adding wire mesh to all sides and bottom if you can .... A few more perches and water dishes and you will be set ... Great job for a beginner
