New To Breeding
I took her back to the vet and she is actually egg bound. They have kept her is and they are going to give her hand on passing the egg. The vet also said their was a hard egg behind it. I saw a different vet. If she does not pass it by them giving her the calcium and warming her up they will then do an ex-ray etc etc.

New To Breeding
About 2 weeks ago I noticed my hen had a lump on her . In a panic I took her to the vet and he told me she had an egg. As I had no breeding box in the cage I was quite surprised, but then again her mate had been quite *****. Well its now 2 weeks later and she has not layed her eggs. She has gone into the nesting box quite a few times, yes I put itin their after the trip to the vet, and her mate has been sitting on the side of the nesting box talking to her. Should I be concerned that she has not layed? Or could it be within the next 2 days. On Wednesday I think I disturbed her as she was in her box breathing quite hard and lying down, She seems quite happy and has been constantly eating and moving around her cage. She is a t present in her box, pocking her head out every now and again.

Peter And Gav(gavin)
Hi All, well unfortunatly peter died at 1.35am on monday morning. We dont really know why, but he did suffer for a good 3 hours, I was telling him it was okay to go but he fought and fought. At the end he was making little noises as if to say good bye and then he did something i will never forget, he threw himself up against the side of the cage and as i grabbed him he died in my hands. I dont think I have cried so much. While peter was sick and just after he died Gav went very quite, he knew. Anyway that morning I started to get worried about Gav and decieded to take him immediatly to the vet to get him checked out. The vet said he was okay but he was sarting to fret, and as I work alot of hours I decieded to get him a new friend straight away. Well I got a little girl. They are in seperate cages at the moment and I am yet to name her. She was hand reared and has one clipped wing. If you can come up with a name it would be great. I really wanted another boy so I could name him LANCE after Lance Armstrong but I cant call her that. I bought a huge pot and I have buried Peter in it. I am going to paint the pot yellow and blue, as they were Peters colours, and Iam going to plant yellow and blue flowers in the pot and if I ever move house again he will always be with me. He will be dearly missed by myself, Gav and the rest of my family.

Peter And Gav(gavin)
Hi All, well Peter and Gav seem to be going strong. Peter loves his new cage esp. his swing. When Gav starts moving and making a noise, Peter climbs to the top of his swing and hangs upside down trying to get a better view. I will have pictures for you ll later. Gav is still a baby as his blue, its still quite white but you can see a twing of the blue at the top. and he will hop on my hand. Peter, Gav and Rybinna

Pneumonia
Hi All, Well Peter know has a friend. His name is Gav. Gav is still a baby, with a little bit of blue. They are in seperate cages as recommended and Peter is still getting his meds. I also bought Peter a new cage and he loves it. It has a swing in it and just thinks its great. I cleaned out his old cage in hot water and I have Gav in it. Gav is very checky and has been climbing all over his cage trying to get out. I have tied all the little doors on his cages shut. Peter is doing extremlly well. The only problem I had was when I put him in his new cage he found his wings and had a good fly around. Well this upset one of his feathers and he tried to pull it out and it bled a little bit. Well thank you all Peter, Gav, and Rybinna

Pneumonia
Hi Peter is going strong. I think one of the reasons Peter got so sick was due to being alone. A couple of months ago I moved and I had to go away to a meeting. In that time he stayed at my parents. Well they also have a budgie and were side by side in their own cages and were great friends. Ever since I bought Peter home he basically started losing weight. I have taken him to the vet quite a few times since I bought him home as I was getting worried. Lucky I did. Well I think I've come to the conclusion and decion that I am going to buy Peter a friend once he is better. My question is should I get a female or male. I do not want to breed though. I will be buying a bigger cage, but how do I go about introducing them. Will Peter get jealous and how do I go about it all. I think Peter having a friend will keep him company while I am at work. Well thank you all for your concern, Peter seems to be back to himself. I've started giving him vegetables. Thank you all Peter and Rybinna

Pneumonia
Thank you all for your help. He seems to be a little bit better today. Right know he is doing his normal thing of having a cat nap when I get home, but he is rather cheecky, he pretends his sleeping but he starts talking, if you walk past him and make a noice, he opens one eye and glares a you for making a noise.(Laughing out loud). Once again thank you all for you help Peter and Rybinna

Pneumonia
Hi Peter and myself live in the far north tropics and today Peter was diognised with Pneumonia. He sort of had a breathing attack and myself being myself I panicked and raced him to the Vet. Lucky for Peter I did as the Vet told me he had Pneumonia. The vet gave me tricon to put into his water and changed his diet. The only problem is is that Peter is very fussy and will only eat the seed treats. I have been giving him brocolie and grapes but he will not eat these things. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get Peter to eat his vegeables. I have also read on the net that budgies that have Pneumonia that you must keep them warm, but as I live in the tropics so its hot everyday. I do not have my aircon going but I have fans going 24 7. I have had Peter for 2 years and he was fully grown when I bought him. I dont want to lose him due my negeliance so any Ideas on how to get him through all this is greatly appricated. Thanking you for your help Peter and Rybinna
