My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
His cage was on the floor on the carpet i didn't have a table to put his cage on because i ran to buy a cage when i got him after the auction. Yesterday i was thinking he was scared to eat but i was a bit worried as well i knew that might be because of a new home. I have decided to put him up for a while so he could see benjie the other budgie since i put him up he has had eye contact with Benjie and started eating. so good news thanks everyone.

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
My budgie is much better after the treatment i gave him for trichomoniasis his breath is much better not moving his tail any more while breathing and infection around one eye seems to be gone.I bought him a friend from an auction (show budige quiet big) but they are not in the same cage and don't have contact .However the new spangle grey green has not eaten or drinking since last Saturday (about 1 1/2 days) any ideas i am still keeping him in separate cage for quarantine period he seems happy and very active but does not eat at whole. Eye Problem
Thanks for quick reply When he was in boarding house the boarding manager took him to her vet who prescribed him psittavet for 10 days. When i got him he was treated already for 3 days i took him immediately to my vet she had suspicious for Pittacosis we did a blood test he came negative grade was zero. Then my vet gave him baytril for 7 days (because he was struggling to breath) that while he was getting psittavet in the drinking water (for 10 days) both didn't help. Then when i went to my vet again she gave him clavulox for 7 days still not improvement. I am thinking he may have Canker but not sure as he stays where the seeds most of the day without moving and i think the vet has not picked it up. The budgie is crying almost all day and its realy frustrated me . I think because he scraches his eyes he moved the infection below his eyes and that why the vets are confused and was thinking he has psittacosis.

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
The antibiotics which was prescribed by the vet didn't not make any improvement on my little budgie . I am thinking he got trichomoniasis because he sits hours in front of the seeds feeder no movements most of the day. Anyone have had a budgie which got trichomoniasis and the budgie eyes were infected too? Thanks Eyal

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
Hi,Thanks for your message .His droops were green waterly before but since he came back they turned black green small not waterly regular.I took him to my vet which is well known vet in Sydney for birds. The vet first warmed him because they said he was with other parrots when he was boarding. They did not take scrap from his skin which i am going to tell them . The pop they have looked under microscope they have found nothing. The first vet he went was the vet of the boarding house she gave him psittavet for 10 days. Then i got him he looked terrible his eyes were both with infection and his droops were waterly green.I have just arrived back to Australia and took him immediately to my vet .She had a consultation talk with the first vet who saw him and they decided to continue the medication because there was a little bit of improvement around his eyes. Then because i didn't see much improvement in his breathing i took him again to my vet and she did a chlamydophila immunocomb test which later was found negative (level was Zero) then she gave him baytril for 7 days because of his breathing. After 7 days i returned again to the vet because was only small improvement in one eye and he was still moving his tail when breathing. The vet took faecal smear 2 test she didn't see anything wrong and gave him new antibiotics clavulox for 7 days then she adviced that if this antibiotics went help they need to take biopsy. He is a little bit better but not much, he does not talk at all also behave differently then before he sometimes creeps when he sees me or hear other loried outside my unit.I had to clean his cage yesterday and i put him in the living room he was sitting freezed scarry and i was in the bathroom cleaning his cage he heard lories outside the balcony he ran to the window and crached into the window and was bleeding from his nostrils and felt like he wants to sleep. I had him for 1 1/2 year and he had never crached into a window, he always know there is a window. I do not understand how he behaves so differently now.Sorry his color around the eyes is grey like. I live in a building that there is Concierge 24 hours they said they can feed the bird everyday and i can come every weekend to Sydney and check everything is okay.I really don't know is it better to move the budgie to another place when he is sick or live him at the unit for 5 days with only 1 visit per day of a concierge.

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
Also the vet asked me if he is my bird? yes he does not talk anymore and also his voice changed but thats maybe because he got cold or infection. He is not on Antibiotics for psittacosis anymore, the vet gave it to him for 10 days only because his blood test for psittacosis came negative. He is now on antibiotics called Clavulox for 7 days he became more difficult to catch up so thats good he used to be like that before so i think he is a bit more stronger than he was but his infection has not gone. The vet only check his drops and crop wash but she did not take a little of the infection aroud the eyes to be checked under microscope is it necessary? Would you expect a vet to do it?

His results came negative. But unfortunately he is not reacting to any antibiotics so far. The vet gave him the last antibiotics to see if it helps . If it does not i need to take biopcy . He still has infected eyes which he scratches all time and moved the infection to his head Eyal

Thanks for that I went to the vet today to do a blood test for Pisttaci . Unfortunately there is also no improvement of the budgie eyes since Wednesday when the vet saw him last, the vet decided to add another antibiotics called baytril. We should have the results of the blood test on Monday to see if he was exposed to Chlamydia, even though its possible that the results woould not be accurate because he is already on antibitics.

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
Hey KAZ, He was in a boarding house there were other birds there. Before i sent him there, I told the manager that he should not be in contact with any birds . She didnt do it. He has contacted other birds , although she told me other birds have to be checked by vet anually before boarding , i replied anyone can tell this its not guaranty that owners do so. She said to me he was not eating when the dease started. He is eating now but he used to eat only pilletts now he turned back to seeds only. He looks very sick does not talk at all and does not remember his name or words he used to know.

My Budgie Came From Boarding Very Sick
Hi All, I went overseas for 4 weeks when i came back yesterday from holidays i got my budgie back from the boarding. He was very sick, infected eyes, blue legs, stays fluffy all time does not talk don't name his name. He was at the vet while boarding and the vet said it may be stress she gave him Psittavet for 10 days. I refused to pay yet the boarding until i make my own checks. I took him to my vet and they did corp checks but didn't find anything. They contacted the vet who gave him the Psittavet and told me to keep giving him the Psittavet for 10 days. If we won't get better then they would like to do a Psittacosis test after 2 weeks. Any help or idea would be appreciate. Thanks Eyal
