  1. Today, for the very first time, Mr Scaredy-Cat, aka Tealah, came out of the cage all by himself for a play. It was definitely a photo opportunity. Here's dekota and Tealah on a drawer handle on top of a lantern with Keely, "You looking at me?" Well, while you are there..... oooer, now that's how I like it! Zanthie, beautiful boy Keely wanted to show off as well Tealah was just having fun, flying free... If he keeps this up I will have to find him a new nickname... Mr Scaredy-Cat won't fit any more. so georgeous
  3. Thats so sad. Poor babies, straight to budgie heaven. I hope the rest do okay.
  4. You are fantastic. Nice to know that I have such a great breeder near me if I decide to go down that track at some time. Between you and Cheeta I'm all right if I need help.
  5. Wow, you did that leadlight?? I am so totally in love with it. There is a house around the corner from me with the most fantastic window like that. It al.ways catches my eye and if I ever built another house I would love to put a couple in. Hope all goes well with your bubs. Sounds like you are going to be a very busy girl
  6. [crosses fingers and shelves plans for budgie smugling for a week or two] Hope Dad does his job too.
  7. I know a great maxi taxi driver..... I think I would be more upset if no one mentioned it... especially as I am a new member and you don't know me that well yet. I probably would have done the same. As for the vet, as Cheeta said, there are only a few in the metro area in Perth. South of the River there is also Murdoch uni that I know of.. but I'd be worried about students experimenting... :rip:

The name really suits Elvis... he is a bit over the top the way he almost looks like he posed for that photo. They are all great, I especially liked your clearbody blue
  9. Yeah, I had figured that you were fairly close, and that Jules was somewhere quite south as she has been lurking around Kelmscott a bit :rip: As for sneaking Bubble's baby budgies, I believe you know where she lives... can you fit a wheelchair in your car?

Document away. Absolutely fantastic pictures, especially the 1st one. Love your photography as I said before. Terrific
  11. Hiya Cheeta, that is where we go... I'm only over the other side of Tonkin Hwy. Will get a photo or two tomorrow
  12. Certainly wasn't offended. I should have mentioned his face before I gave you all a fright. He has the same type of crusting above his right eye as well as above the cere. He was treated several times with ivermectin. As for the feathers, he has no sign of any baterial or other feather disease. His regrowth may have been affected by the treatments he was having (for mites) during his first molt. He also suffered a respiritory disease during the same time which was treated with aureomycin in his water for about a week. It appears that he will eventually regain his feathers, but the flight feathers are taking a lot longer, despite increased protein in his diet. He just didn't have a very good start in life

Bobby looks so great... 2 of mine always show up a huge stain after carrots
  14. no, he doesn't have scaly face mite. He did have mites when he was very young. This poor creature has made many trips to the avian vet. He does still have crusty patches on his head. We haven't been able to clear them. He did also have huge bald patches on his head and neck, which very slowly have regrown. What?! Do you think I am crazy.... I would not let a sick budgie near my own.

I know that feeling... I have a digital SLR... another 5MP camera, so that I always have one with me (the SLR is too big to drag everywhere), and I just got the latest Sony Ericsson 3.2MP cybershot phone as you can never be too well covered for the "wish I had a camera with me" shot. Photography is more than just a hobby with me. I do actually have a degree and do some paid work occassionally.

There's that real handsome 'dude' again. Love him
  18. All it takes is one budgie. That leads to the next budgie and then the next and then the next one after that. It keeps happening....it takes over....and next thing you know the budgies live in the house cos theres more room and you live in a shed in the back garden So when we get dragged off by faceless men in white jackets do we get to go to a bird room?
  19. I had Adalard, my daughter's budgie, playing with my budgies today, and, as he is the reason that I started to keep budgies, I figured I would introduce him. As I mentioned in my flocks intro, Adalard is a male albino with balding problems. I used to keep him with my babies until he started having flight problems, when I figured it would be better if he was in a smaller cage. He has such fun with everyone else that maybe I should commission Daniel to make a ladder like Trooper's This is Adalard from the top.... you can see how sparse the flight feathers are Dekota comes down to ground level to keep Adalard company This is Keely in flight - how wing feathers should look This is Adalard doing his best job at flying Just for fun - this is Beau and Dekota Through the bars of love?? The door was open... Feathers
  20. [looks up pictures of "birds nest" hairdo's and starts practicing]
  21. Try to mist him with a spray bottle more often, maybe he will get to like it, especially as it gets hotter. Most of mine do, Zanthie can't seem to get enough of it. They have a couple of baths but I really only see Keely in it when she is eating her veggies. The rest just think they are there as another water supply.
  22. I liked the 'ghost' budgie too. My guys go crazy over brocolli and just lately they have been loving baby corn in their daily delights.
  23. I love Oprah.. great name for her. Looking at all these great pics all the time is NOT helping me in my quest to not buy any more.... [stays strong]... for now...
  24. Oh so beautiful...... one in a christmas stocking sounds fab!
