It certainly looks like it is possibly the same thing. She is discoloured in very much the same way the store birds were.

Baby Yellow Pieds Day Out
Lovey, I really need to find some special glasses that blank out pics of cute baby budgies, so that you can look, but all you see is the typing.

There is a store that I went to the other day that had 'dirty' looking budgies. They all had this very strange pinky/brown colour to them. I asked one of the staff about it. She said it was from the brown mineral stuff they had previously kept on the floor of the cages. They have since changed it to sand, but the birds will take some time to lose the 'dirty' colouring. Probably at their next molt. That was a much clearer picture of her, budgie budgie, she is lovely

Thanks all for your kind thoughts and words. Rainbow, Nathan is 15, he felt really awful about it, so I will pass on that hug. He will appreciate it. Oh-oh is now officially Jacquie's budgie, she paid for him yesterday, and she wants to keep Oh-oh as his name.

Scary Morning
I'm so pleased you managed to get them both. We had one on the loose the other day when transferring our new budgies to the quarantine cage. Thankfully I insisted on doing it in the bathroom just in case this happened.

1 Man Flock
Hello, and welcome. Now I understand why you apologised to Chryso about your avatar. I just thought maybe you had pinched the idea of budgie laser eyes from her christmas sig. It all makes perfect sense now... :bluebudgie:

Hi Budgie budgie, just a quick tip. Find the 'macro' setting on your camera if you are taking pictures from that close. It normally looks like a tulip shaped flower. That setting will not only give you a more focussed photo, but will also tone down the flash as well. Feathers

My New Additions
I have spent the last couple of hours sobbing. My son went into my room some time today and left my door open. Apperently a cat managed to knock the quaranteen cage down and a door opened. He found one of our cats out the back with Woopsy. He was dead. I looked him over when I got home, and found out, and he just looked perfect, not a mark on him, except for a little blood under his wing Poor baby wasn't even here for 24 hours....... He was soo, so beautiful... RIP Woopsy...

My New Additions
Hi all, Yeah, I can hear the chorus of "I told you so" already. Yep, I did it again. I went to buy my birdies another ladder as they all love the wooden one that is in their cage. I figured another one would mean less bickering. Stupidly I had a look at the budgies while I was there. Even more stupidly I pointed out a couple of nice ones to my daughter, Jacquie. Now do you think I was going to be able to leave without making at least one purchase? I tried to reason with my daughter that we didn't have the cage space. Didn't work.. not sure if I was trying to convince her or me. Sooo, as Adalard (Jacquie's budgie) is currently in our hospital cage I needed to get another quaranteen cage didn't I. Jacquie was stuck on one bird and I really wanted the other as his markings would make him great for breeding. One ladder, 2 budgies and 1 cage later..... Both of them are 11 months old. For now their names are Woopsy and Oh-oh. We did consider "Oops" and "I did it again" Some time before the end of the month I am going to need a second large cage. Oh my goodness I am officially out of control. Introducing: Woopsy my potential good looking daddy and Oh-oh who Jacquie wants to buy from me when she gets paid next week. Oh-oh and Woopsy, showing me one of his acrobatic tricks Some one tell me how to stop..... Feathers

Veggies
Broccoli is a favourite with mine, and they like apple too, as well as all the other veggies Bubbles mentioned. They get their veggies every day, I think they would riot if they didn't. Today they are feasting on broccoli, grated carrot, bok choy, sugar snap peas and corn.

A Good Example
My mum and her sister have a bit of a co-op running and they buy fruit and vegies from a growers market very early on a Saturday morning. Then they divide everything up for the families who are in on it. They deliver mine to me every saturday afternoon. It was so funny last week, because mum came in with these sprouts and said "I don't know if these will be any good". To which I replied, "Thats okay, my birds will love them". "Thats who I got them for" she said. She says she now walks around with them in mind and whenever she comes across something my birds will like she includes it with their co-op shopping!

Ive Got A Big Problem!
Hi bugie-girl You have done the right thing in coming here to ask for help.It shows that you care about your budgies, which is great. Do you know why Sunflower and Bellablue died? Maybe you should take your remaining budgies to an avian vet and get a checkup. Do you know if there is an avian vet near you? I noticed you are in WA. I know of avian vets in Murdoch, Applecross and Wattle Grove. There are a couple more in the metro area that I can't think of right now. If you need help locating one near you we can help you find one. This is a great site to find out so much about your birds. Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here. Feathers
