  1. When I fist signed up I had a Pied and a lutino, The pied sounded stupid so the pie stuck, I was still riding back then so it suited either way. I have another name I use on my hunting forums but it doesnt suit here.
  2. Having used working dogs (pigdogs etc) Id have said maybe wolf/grey with a bit of kelpie in there. How old is she Birdparadise? Is she your only dog?
  3. I do the same with my fish, Oscars love it (well maybe not love they are trying to kill it! lol)
  4. She's cute, most of my dogs have had wolfhound, deerhound, greyhound in there in varying amounts, theyre great breeds
  5. I agree with Elly, that spot could be a random feather or split rec pied- its quite small to be sure. Also the bit of colour through the wings- Ive found with mine that are like that there is the opaline gene in play so probably split opaline too. But again cant be sure unless you know parents or you breed him.
  6. You wont get pieds from that pairing maybe just YF's in normal and opaline, not taking into account any other genes. You wont know unless you try! That rec pied cock (parent) is stunning
  7. Id love a waterdragon but we arent allowed in WA- lol They have always been my favourite
  8. Ive had all and Beardies are the go, got snakes and dont do much with them. Blueis and bobtails are too sedate for 'fun' pets
  9. Not 100% sure but babies: YF2 mauve female REc pied 2x Rec pied/clearwings? not sure on these next picture Yf2 cobalt opaline female Cobalt normal (maybe opaline) female next Rec pied clearwing (?)male Bird behind is hard to see but I assume it would be similar to the other.... hen What parents are the babies from? New ones too or did you breed them? Pretty birds you picked up, they look healthy
  10. Lol, it took my greens 4 clutches to start producing blues, it was a shock when they finally arrived
  11. Gorgeous I love seeing Pieds feather up.
  12. Cute mate, is she greygreen? The cinnamon will lighten it to a yellowy-greygreen, I have a few cin op spangle greygreens hatch this year. Did the parents go for round 2?
  13. Do you have somewhere for her eggs? Cant let them go to waste. Love #1, but then I do have a thing for greens!! What happened to the little green chick? I must have missed the post- parent bite?

Mine get fresh grated (not peeled) beetroot, with grated carrot, sweet potato or pumpkin, fine chopped greens or whatever else I have in the fridge. I did get a fright the other day going out an hour after I fed, I am used to the pink faces but one hen was Red as red, I thought she'd been stuck into her chicks- but no just the vegies!
  15. One of my pet birds, missing half his spots 2 white cheek patches and a ring on both sides but not as thick as your birds. The black v is just a dominant pied trait it should be fairly even in all birds. I have a few opaline dom pieds all with the even belly band but none have the extended head patch, just the normal size one.
  16. Lol, shannon noll lookout!!
  17. Be great to catch up with all you girls, I'll see what I can do. Thumbs up in staying in the bird room, its lovely roomy and clean- not unlike a hotel!! You'll love it.
  18. Maybe the top picture you'd get away with saying it but definately not the bottom one. I agree with Kaz the cere is a dead giveaway at that age
  19. Elly- variegated as in the dom pied patches can be anywhere most dom pieds are lke this, banded pieds have thesymmetrical band evenly across the belly. I have birds bred from varigated pieds that show an even belly band but they are still varigated. Ive got a few pics that show it. Recessive pied is recessive pied but dom pied can be varigated (most) with patches and clear flight feathers, banded (apparently not alot around) proper band and clear flights, or clearflight pied- just clear flights
  20. I found that my birds that have an abundance of spots like that are like it from their first feathers and it seems to run mainly in one family I have. They get the little halfmoon spots as babies and it turns into lots and lots of good spots when they moult. Most of the babies like this are from a pied/opaline and a normal hen. So opaline in the family but not directly (not visual.)
  21. id say its just suffusion, it can be a pied without banding as such. Most pieds in aus are varigated pied not banded pieds.
  22. yeah Neat an albino can mask a variety of 'types', makes it all the more interesting!
