Is This Feather Mites?
Hey all! Recently I discovered that one of my budgies is experiancing feather loss, this is very unusual as he has never had anything like this before. At the moment most of my birds are moulting, therefore they are all looking abit scruffy. But this one seemed to have lost more than the others! there is a bald patch by his feet and underneath his beak. I was wondering weather this could be mites. Im worried that if it is mites it could spread to the whole flock. :S Please could you give me some advice on this matter! It would be a great help!! Thanks :ohmygod: Toffeefluff

Is He Right For Showing?
hi all I have a very healthy 1 year old male. I live in Kent and iam not sure where to find a budgie show anywhere near me. Cloud (the budgie) is grey, with a white face and has large spots and a large head and small eyes. like the discriptions of show birds. Is he right for showing? Does anyone know where i can look or can tell me where there is a show? Thanks Toffeefluff

Attack!
hi thanks for all the possible causes of this. Sparkie is a rescue bird and was given to us free from a family up North. He had been attacked by a rat and his owners spent hunderds on him just to get him back on his few claws. As he only has a few claws left it is practically impossible for him to be on the wire of the aviry. This is why we are stuck on what could have happened to this poor little boy :hap: Thanks again Toffeefluff :hap:

Attack!
On friday i went out to check on the budgies and sparkie ( the one who got attacked by the rat) was coverd in blood! i was shocked!!!! we took him inside and the very next day we took hi m into the vet. he put him on antibiotics an said to keep an eye on him. it is still a mystery how he got into such a state so iam asking you what possible ways could he get injured like that? According to the Vet the wounds are semetrical and have been inflicted on round about ther same place. We checked the other birds to see if they had any blood on them but they were all innocent and clean. We looked around the aviry and there was no blood there aswell! Could he have done these wounds himself?? or was it a rodent or another bird? I dont think that it was a rodent becuase all the other birds woud be afraid. However i reckon it might have been one of the newbees that we got free from some friends in Surry. Angus a blue yellow faced male has been acting very agressive towards the other birds. So iam not entirely sure. Please help!! I'll try and post some pictures of his injurys on this post. If anyone knows any possible answers please can you reply a.s.a.p Toffeefluff
