Thanks Maisie! It was a lot of fun making it, I'm also going to give Laura an information sheet on caring for a budgie with all the do's and dont's on it. Great idea about the do's and don't, you could also list the veggies and natural branches they like to eat She's one lucky girl who's going to get a very well breed and tamed budgie! Good idea Maesie! A lot of people with pet budgies think they only need seed and water which is pretty sad.

Awsome. Can we see it? Well its a long story Maesie! I made the certificate in Microsoft Word and put it into My Documents. Then when I tried to put it into Photobucket to make it the right size, it doesnt show up! If you know have any ideas, please let me know! How annoying!!! grr... maybe take a photo of it and then post that, or can you save it as an image (jpeg). Click down when it says it's a doc and try and change it?!?! Will try that, thanks Maesie, cant do it tonight but will tomorrow

Yours birds are gorgeous Maesie! I love their names too! Sorry this is I dont have too many brand name things. While out shopping the other day I found a pair of sunglasses I LOVED, I asked the assistant how much they were and I nearly fainted - $615! I felt like saying "What ? Are they made of gold?" They are made by a Roberto Cavalli who I'd never heard of in my life. Needless to say, those sunnies stayed where they were - I can dream cant I?? I have since been on Ebay and found the same brand selling for one to two hundred dollars - that's even too much!

More evidence of the little buggers! The baits have been chewed at and there was a dead mouse in the Major Mitchells aviary - I had to scoop it up with a dustpan and brush, glad no one was watching! Can you imagine someone with a phobia of mice trying not to look and trying to sweep it onto the dustpan? There cant be too many more left surely??

I have spent the last few hours designing the hatch certificate. It has the date she hatched, what colour her mum and dad are,the breeders name (that would be moi ) and her new owners name. I have put a photo of the chick on it as well and "Happy 9th Birthday Laura ! under the photo. Her father is picking the bird up in 2 weeks time so she will be well and truly weaned and ready to go!

Only about a week to 10 days before I have baby cockatiels!! I checked the nest a few days ago and there are 5 eggs but only 3 look fertile. Dad does day shift and Mum does night shift.

Thanks Maesie and Kaz. Actually Maesie, I have a confession to make. I was cleaning out their nest box and putting some shavings in for them, so temporarily put them in the new box I had spare. and thats when I took the photo. (I'm too honest!) I was hoping I would get at least one like their dad, but doesnt look like it! Unless the little white one in the middle of the group photo is - not sure, can anyone tell?

I have taken some pics of my gorgeous babies today - here they are! I have moved the skinny little chick at the front in the 3rd photo in with a foster mother.. He didnt seem to have much food in his crop and looked a bit thin so hopefully he will pick up a bit.

Well that totally freaks me out! The only good thing about this is that they should now be dead! Sorry melbournebudgies if I have offended you but I cannot stand them!

I havent smelt them at all! It scares me that 2 of the blocks actually disappeared - not just chewed away gradually- its like the mice (or rats) picked the blocks up and carried them away!

I'm just so glad I am nowhere near them at night time. I have a phobia when it comes to mice and frogs.

After reading about the rat problems a few members have had, I thought I would buy some mouse bait just in case. (there was absolutely no evidence of them). There is a new bait out which is a solid block about half an inch wide and a few inches long that you can place out in all sorts of weather. I placed 3 of them in an empty aviary I have spare as that is the only place I have that my dogs cant access them. Not expecting them to bave been touched at all, I was shocked to find 2 of them had dissappeared completely and the other one had been nibbled at. (That was over a period of only 48 hours! ) Imagine how many mice there must be running around my aviary of a night spreading disease Ugh! Makes me sick ! I have put another 3 baits out today - surely there cant be too many more left!

They look like hens to me Maesie, but dont take my word for it - I'm not very good at this!! But I do know that the ones that bite are hens!!

Hi Rah - actually I have made a hatch certificate and will be putting a baby photo on it with the date she hatched etc so I hope they like it!

I am taming this little baby for a young girl who has always wanted a tame budgie. Her father is giving it to her for her birthday and she doesnt know she's getting it, so she's going to be rapt! Hurry up, I cant stay awake much longer Aahh, this is the life, a nice soft lounge to sleep on and millet for a pillow zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
