  1. I think this is where the infection is coming from - the crop of Cino. They have previously had 2 young die on them, and the one that I removed seems to be prospering with another mother. I do not want to risk another little one with them. Totally agree with your line of thinking
  2. That FD was around 18 months old in that photo..........your will grow longer feathers soon enough. I kind of see them as the bird equivalent of a downs syndrome baby.........there is beauty in all Gods creatures. I, like Liv, would do my best to give them a good life no matter how short it would be. I do find them beautiful.
  3. Would you try and give Dumb and Cino a baby to raise ?
  4. Less perches, more room to fly not just sit, no oats and fattening seeds in their seed blend.
  5. Liv will keep them as long as she can as indoors budgies. They do not generally have a long life.....most often just weeks. I knew of one that made it to 18 months though.
  6. Some very nice photos there Dave especially the winged one in the nestbox. Dumb and Cinos egg looks infertile to me. Go Caesar for looking after his babies.....also they are eating in the nestbox

  18. Pure white in my experience can indicate 8 months onwards
  19. Other commentds from experts and judges who saw the photos of this bird........ A feather duster..........but a great looking one and ......... The bird has over long feather formation and incredible growth. You have to remember that a buff bird has lots of underdown feathering Kaz. This give the impression of lots of feather. This bird has lots of primary feather that overgrows its down and contour feathers. The more I look at it the more I am convinced. What a lovely bird though. Tell her good on her for breeding it. many fanciers believe you are right at the cusp of maximaum feather when you breed a duster.
  20. I name the special ones Too hard to name budgies when you may have 30 grey greens that all look the same though

Tips on how to deal with Budgie mums who scream at you http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=13358
  22. Feather follicles are the base of the feathers....the roots of the feathers just under the skin.
  23. depends.....on if she has damaged the feather follicles and also depends on if she is finshed plucking..............can get a whole lot worse yet and if baby doesnt freeze without being kept warm at night too A friend of mine had a similar situation....single chick parents lost interest in...I went over and got it and put it in one of my nests and gave it back to her once it had fledged and was independant.
