Sorry Mine are ready to go to nest most all of the year and I breed all year round due to having the conditions to do so. BUT if you have been getting rain like all of us most other places, they are very motivated by rainfall. It triggers a place in their brain that tells them rain means plentiful food for as long as they need to raise a family. Budgies are motivated more by plentiful food, water and good conditions more than a season. Wild budgies would go by seasons as regards crops, rainfall, droughts or not etc.
  3. Liv..........you will find that legring is WABC 345 06 .......WABC being an uncoded ring. Best ask Renee whar she knows of the mothers background,

Breeding season and mating are two entirely different things. Budgies mate ALL YEAR LONG.........its their recreational sex.

  8. Liv do you have pictures of these babies at various stages in the nest so I can see the progression of feather development ? Will be helpful at knoiwing what to look for and recognising signals....indicating what is to come. PS Cec and Brenda expressed their sadness at you having 3 in one nest..........said in all their breeding they have only ever had two at the same time in a nest.

  22. i wouldnt breed them still for about 3 months they still look young to me anyway if you just keep them paired but dont put box in till about sep 13th you will have eggs by oct thats a good time so ... up to u have fun also i would personally put two more pairs up on same day as u do these ones just in case things go wrong I agree with GB
  23. As soon as you can go back and ask to be taught to crop feed. Also when trying to get meds or food into a birds beak some people forget to pay attention to where they are gripping the bird....squeezing accidentally around the crop area can force crop contents up and they can be swallowed again the wrong way or aspirated.....which may have occurred this time. For you to be happy and comfortable treating her you need to insist on helpful lessons from the vet. INSIST on being taught to crop feed......you really do need to know how.
  24. Very pretty and very healthy looking birds too...........congratulations
