Curled Tail
Hi Kym, I wouldnt see this as anything to worry about. he may be about to moult his tail feather out. You can uncurl it by dipping the tail feather in warm water...if it bothers you any. Cheers and WELCOME

Should I Let Them Out And Play
Budgies do not breed well with distractions. I would say ( and others may disagree ) but I would certainly not have them out playing when they are meant to be breeding......but if this is your pair where he hasnt wing feathers, there time to wait...right ?

Will They Breed If Wings Are Clipped?
Hi I think you will find that budgie males really need their wings to mate properly. He needs his full wings to be able to wrap around the hen for balance and grip.

Ring Issue
Who has stipulated they cant be posted until after the 24th of August???? The 24th is a full week before 1st of sept, most postal deliveries only take 2-3 days maximum, meaning most breeders will recieve rings at the lastest 27th of August. I was always under the impression rings were to arrive as close to the 1st of Sept/Jan but not before.... Its up to the ring registrar as to when they get to post them to arrive to certain people ( country or local ) on or before the Sept 1st. I was basing that on them getting to me for distribution first. Then when I can get them into the post for everyone. Obviously I wont be getting them to people too early.

My Trophies
I knew it Renee hates taking photos ....she says she is no good at it and they all come out blurry. She would be good at it if she took her time, but Renee wants instant results. I told her she would have to take 50 to get a handful of good ones as we all do.........I do anyway

Omelette's Babies
I pulled the last two babies out of the nestbox into the breeder cabinet, turned my back for a few moments and back again to see dad attacking them. Luckily they only have a little bleeding at the top of cere in the feathered area.....not much. I have created a mini kindie cage for these ones and all siblings ( unused breeding cabinet ) and added a coule of the newly fledged greywing babies as well. Two nestbox icecream tubs in there. They refused a spoon feed so I will try again later. the older chicks should either feed them or show them how. I will try again with the spoon feed at tea time.

My Trophies
At least it gives you time to dust the shelf or build a bigger trophy cabinet

Do They Want To Mate With Me!?
As Nubbly says ........toss the egg. And while you are about it, rearrange the cage and upgrade some toys....for distraction.

Help With Breeding
How old are the babies ? Are they fully feathered ? Is the father feeding the babies ? If Dad is feeding them and they are old enough to be out of the nestbox, then remove the mother to another place where he cannot hear her. Do not put her straight out into the aviary as parents need a quiet place to be to eat and put back condition after breeding. Straight back into the aviary after breeding can result in them getting sick from stress. PS I deleted your other topic as it was double posting the same thing.

Pairing One
Interestingly the first chicks pin feathers are showing it is a spangle, it is white and it also seems to have some cinnamon look around the wing pin feathers. I guess I had better wait for more feathering to occur.....as so far it looks confusing. Only two chicks.
