  4. If the feather follicles have been damaged then they dont always grow back fully over the top of the wings.

    The chick is fostered and has no siblings. Often those markings moult out later on.

  16. Why should chicks last 24 hrs before a first feed ? My Mum budgies feed their newly hatched babies in less than 3 hours. But a cockbird yesterday opened up some eggs with nearly ready to hatch chicks in them and I found them bloodied on the breeder cage floor and him with blood all over his face

    About half a dozen feed and water areas depending on size of feeders and drinkers. Large drinker, large trays of seed etc.
