I suggest investigate the ingredients of the rubber matting first. A lot of rubber gives off vapours especially in warmer weather. Lino for instance has formaldehyde as one of its key ingredients. So it pays to check and be wise before the event.
  5. What does trying to mean ?
  6. Some feather cysts can be tied off yes, but others cant. You can apply even pressure and express the gunk, but that can be an almost daily exercise. The feather follicle really needs excising so stop reoccurrence. We have topics on feather cysts here on BBC if you use the search function or check the health forum.
  7. Yeah...just two still trying to win back their feathers....one green and one lacewing.
  8. Yes, if they are good quality and you want some numbers of greywings like I do at the moment. I also have some greywing to normal pairings going for my splits. And next breeding I will put some of the greywings to larger normals for some more splits. I was trying to get some blue greywings first.
  9. My babies go into a kindie cage when they are eating on their own. I dont decide by their age, but by their state of wellbeing. Without their parents, but most often with other babies. Its where they learn to eat well, play with others, fly and socialise.
  10. dad and here is Mum Dad Mum
  11. Baby Budgie Milestones....article Kindy cage ? What questions do you have re Kindy cage ?
  12. Lacewing hen is out of her foster nest now with some adopted siblings and here is her four true siblings that also were plucked....
  13. What a little cutie
  14. I dont have an answer about the chicks, mate BUT you have to know that culling the birds to please Greg is no answer and you will have huge regrets soon enough after that to make you wish you hadnt
  15. I dont know if its the same for you over there Dave, but here if you miss ringing a chick and its a good one, it can be shown but in adult class.
  16. She is opaline due to the white down.
  17. I was driving home today and alongside a country road near our home was a flock of white corellas. I wish I had the camera with me, as there was also two obvious hybrids that were pink and grey galahs crossed with corellas. They had a faded pale pink and grey feathering and the corella head and crest. A whole flock of white corellas and two hybrid pink and greys crossed with corella. First time I have seen them out and about like that.
  18. Aparently vinegar does the same thing.
  19. A week to ten days is usally enough. One way to find out...take it off and observe, and if you think it still needs correction hobble it again.
  20. All the globes that put out heat have been pulled off all shelves of all stores in Australia. Only energy saver globes can now be bought, and they do not throw out heat. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....4&hl=globes
  21. When the chicks get their pin feathers on their wings......if yellow, all in likelihood it should mean green chicks, and if pins are white it will mean blue series chicks.
  22. Green is dominant and the only way you will get any blue babies is if the green Dad is split for blue.
  23. I would toss the eggs then..........try and work out why they are clear..... Cock too old or not in condition ? Hen going to nest too soon and not mating ? Too much feather and they need plucking ?
  24. Spangle babies have two middle tail pin feathers clear.......... your baby has three I assume it means pied ?
