Help, First Time Breeding Budgies
Best one pair to a cage for breeding or you risk fights, stress, broken eggs and damaged or killed chicks. Two boxes for two pairs is half as many nestboxes as you need to have in colony breeding. There must be choices. Best one pair to a cage in all ways.

What Do You Think About The Tail Less Wonder
I was given a tailless cock awhile back and bred from him and all of his daughters have full tails. But I believe he lost his tail when it wouldnt regrow after being pulled.

My New Budgie~
Not exactly. Spangle is more a reverse patterning on the wing...and the reason I say not exactly as you have described is.....body colour though wings is also an opaline traits and it needs to be explained better than that spangle and normal differences like this normal wing pattern on the left, spangle on the right. Opaline is meant to have a V pattern to differentiate but rarely these days will you see that clear V patch at all.

Help, First Time Breeding Budgies
Some males think any female put in a smaller place like a cage ...with them are there for pestering for budgie sex. You will have to watch. If that pressure is put on them you may have to house them seperately.....as the stress from that may make them sick.

Another Newbie
Welcome I would think the trip is do-able with the budgies. I guess it boils down to space requirements, weather conditions where you will be, and thinking through the travel boxes or cage needs while the car is in motion. Take their regular seed so you dont have to change along the way...changing seed can force a moult. Others who have travelled with their birds may jump in here with more advice. We have had some past topics on travelling with budgies. Cheers kaz

Keyring Ball. Safe?
Anything longer than an inch and a half will hang a budgie so make it something thicker
-
Keyring Ball. Safe?
Maybe....needs a good hard think...........failing that remove the chain and use something else.
-
Keyring Ball. Safe?
They can get claws or toes caught in chain. Maybe if you thread some raffia or natural leather or similar through the links to take up the gaps you could make it safer ?

What Do You Think About The Tail Less Wonder
I cant provide full insight here but I have heard of tail feathers being pulled so new ones grow in for big shows, national selections etc and the tails that were pulled didnt regrow. I was reliably informed in these cases the follicles were damaged by the method and timing of pulling the tail feathers out.

Exhibition And Pet Type Budgies
Size wont make them bully the others. Might be the other way around. Show types are generally quieter and less energetic in the aviry than most pet types.
-
Ratty Tail Feathers
Can be due to cage climbing. Can be due to things like quill mites amongst other things.
