  1. They were all dosed on Ronivet a few weeks ago. Also he was fine at 12 when I was in there and he wasnt by 3pm. 3 hours work to do what he did to himself. He's been with the hen 3 weeks. Hasnt been iirritated at all
  2. Well since he developed the habit over just an hour or two I would rule out Giardia. Maybe the hen put the hard word on him
  3. Stress does seem to be the only option. I wonder what set him, off ?
  4. Terrific result Big congrats Lealotta
  5. already stated Ratzy, besides my birds get regular treatments. Does not explain the sudden change.
  6. Also feel his keelbone........The bone running vertically down the front iof his chest and feel if its sharp ?? If so, he has lost bodyweight and is sicker than he appears.
  7. The beak does not seem to me to be mite affected.....it literally looks like its rotting or infected, infection eating it away. Nothing like anything mite related at all as far as I would say. I think the vaseline on the vent isnt really a very good idea. Nothing oily on or near feathers ever is as they preen at the base of the tail and over all their feathers. That vaseline is going to spread. Then you are going to have to wash a sick budgie. The poop doesnt show much food being eaten. Watch him and see if he is actually eating or just pretending. Put a warm lamp by the cage with a 40 watt globe in it ( not energy saver globes ).......the old kind. Lets just hope he begins to eat......for real. If a persons butt was plugged up with gunk and pretty horrid we wouldnt feel like eating either...you'd feel pretty sick.
  8. I will do some video and post shortly
  9. Some growth crack lines can look like they are a worse condition. A photo really is needed as it may be a normal growth line and not a full depth crack.
  10. I had a pair in the breeding cage...no eggs as yet. All going well between the pair. Cock was calm on the perch the last time I saw him. All good. No problems. Late afternoon today and I check them to give some soft food and the cock has begun to strip off all his feathers. He has removed all his wing flights, he has shredded his tail, and he has plucked his chest right down to his down feathers. I pulled him out of the breeder cage and put him in a show cage and watched him. He is jumping all around like a mexican jumping bean, rolling over and grabbing his tail feathers and pulling hard and biting at it and removing and shredding more tail feathers. No mites, no changes...except now he is acting mentally disturbed and shredding and removing all his feathers. Any ideas ???????????????????????? This has all changed in less than a day. Before and now
  11. RASPBERRY CORDIAL ingredients * 19 ounces frozen raspberries * 1 1/4 cups sugar * 4 cups boiling water * 2 lemons Directions 1. In saucepan add sugar to frozen raspberries and cook for 20-25 minutes, until sugar has dissolved. Then mash the mixture thoroughly. 2. Pour the mixture through a strainer and discard pulp. 3. Add the strained juice of two lemons, stir. 4. Add the 4 cups of boiling water. Let cool, then refrigerate.
  12. We have a few more interviews coming in good time too
  13. Might be a good plan for you to join one of our budgie clubs. Access to breeders and better birds especially if you are heading in the show bird direction. If the guy you mentioned you bought birds from is who I am thinking it may be......you need to talk to me. Within the clubs we can source most anything anyone is after.......I may know someone who can help you find a violet pied.
  14. Wash the vent and clear the area by plucking a few butt feathers out. Then put white paper under the perches and assess the poops and see what you are dealing with. Dont give supha meds until you know the condition of the poops. First few batches of pooing wont be normal....give it time to settle in and then see what the poops are like after a good feed. Now isnt the time to change its food type either so try and be sure its eating the same as it was before you bought it or what may have been in the cage at the venue.
  15. Always look UNDER the bird at the vent and less so at the colour or type of bird. A vent like that is more than just stress of the day. Indicates health issue. The beak is far from normal and may even be diagnosed by a vet as having a beak and feather disease. This is a bird that should not have been sold in my opinion. Urgently the vent needs washing and removal of buildup as it cannot poop with that plug of cr*p there. Make a phonecall to the organisers of the event and make a formal complaint and send photos.
  16. Agree with all Dave's advice
  17. Which rings apply to which birds ? Let me know where you bought them so I can help more PS sorry...I have been away for a few days
  18. Violet opaline hen violet dom pied
  19. Blue rings were issued from Sept 1st 2009 and are still in use...making the bird very young.....too young to breed. Red or gold ? Did you use a flash ? Because it seems so and is hard for us to see. It is extremely easy to tell the difference between red and gold as well as the year stamped across the ring.
  20. All grey spangles I guess and maybe some blue ones too
  21. **KAZ** replied to a post in a topic in What Sex Is My Budgie?
