I think the dad is not DF dom pied but single factor. You could say it was a DF dom pied result maybe if more chicks and over more clutches to prove it, but I say he is single factor dom pied. He has a blue cere also which a SF dom pied male has. DF dom pieds have pink or two colour ceres ( pink and blue patches ). Better still post a picture of the whole of his back as well.

The rest of the babies went out into the flights yesterday and all are coping well. Two were playing wall tennis against some walls and windows until they got their bearings but all was good in the end by the end of the day they had all found their food, found their water, found their wings and found their perches....... so all is well

I dont know, but 99.9% -100% of these chicks with so much bleeding from chick and shell die within seconds. this is one very determined chick with a will to live. There was so much blood that it covered my fingers.

Just checked the tiny premmie baby and it seems to be a female as is the INO sibling. Ino has its eyes open.

I agree with Dave and if you want a male the recessive pied is it as the other two look female.

The chick is doing well. I picked it up today to check. Had a full crop and .......... believe it or not it had an umbilical cord with the dried out egg sac still attached. I guess that will drop off by tomorrow.

First chick hatched today and is cinnamon. There are foster eggs in that nest too though so will have to wait and see if its their chick or not once it feathers up. Omelette stopped at three eggs, then five days later started again. She now has FIVE Make that six Seven eggs and some of the other nests and babies and a new Dad caring for his newly hatched baby
