  1. How many budgie breeders or club members do you know after the same things ? Put it out there and see if you can do bulk orders and share. There is a solution to most things in life.
  2. You just need to ring around any stockfeed places and see if they have access to it and can bring it in for you or ship.
  3. Great news about your hatching As far as what to feed, GB is right, this should all be in place well before birds begin to breed not an afterthought.
  4. Can I have my $20 now? The law states that as an adult I am not allowed to enter into legally binding contracts or even bets with minors or children, so no, no money until you grow up. Sorry. Doesn't that mean that by laying the bet, you already broke the law? ( ) No, the contract is not legally binding as minors must have parental approval in writing at the time of entering into a legally binding contract. As Ratzy is still a child and she did not provide written parental proof, there was no legally binding agreement. So the chance of getting the money, absolutely zero!!!!!!!!!!! How about you gift her a crop needle that she badly needs then
  5. Pay up Dave
  6. They look to be YF type 2 cobalt spangles to me.
  7. I vacuum my breeding cages too. My budgies are pretty much bombproof now
  8. They are both spangles. Second one is a YF blue spangle even though it looks greenish .......yes Looks wise ? maybe  Will you call him the professor
  9. They look great You may find cleaning them harder the way you have done the bottoms of the cages though.
  10. The second one is older and the yellow colour bleeds into the blue creating that green look. The baby one will look the same as the older one when it has moulted and is older too.
  11. 12 eggs...........gonna call her Omelette
  12. Budgie starter is budgie starter not handrearing formula. Blue box. http://www.wombaroo.com.au/budgie_starter.htm One part means if you chose to use a cup for a measure the cup is one part..........two parts would be two cups and half a part would be half a cup. Same if you used a tablespoon. One tablespoon would be one part, two tablespoons would be two p[arts, half a tablespoon would be half a part. All depends on what you use to make up your batch, a cup or a spoon or a scoop etc.
  13. Greywing/clearwing ? do you mean greywing or clearwing because the way you have written it looks as we would write greywing split clearwing which it wouldnt be. and again YF blue spangle cock
  14. Good news  Dont forget that now parents are feeding babies they will eat vegies and many other things they dont normally eat. Commercial egg and biscuit is mostly made from crushed sweet biscuits made for human consumption and not necessarily the best thing for parents to regurgitate to babies. Give them their seed, and grated carrot and some silver beet. Try buying some budgie starter for the parents or make them soft food daily. Here's my soft food recipe An easy to prepare soft food for budgies consists of ( quantities in PARTS as I make a large quantity for my budgies ) 2 parts rolled oats or quick cook porridge oats. 1 part egg and biscuit or budgie starter 1 part dry fine/medium polenta 1/2 part budgie seed 3 scoops ( Tablespoons ) powdered whole egg ( optional or substitute ) 2 scoops Whey protein ( optional ) 1 scoop wheatgerm calcivet to make it easier just use the ingredient in bold and make it up dry and put in a container and just mix as much wet mix as often as you need to.
  15. Personally I think Dave owes you $20 and there's a million witnesses to that
  16. This article by member Nubbly may help you http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=27916 PS this one looks like a greywing to me.
  17. Great results  But one drop is enough ..........but you have to contact the skin not on top of feathers.
  18. Neither can we  are you going to tile your floor Dave ?
  19. Fostering chicks needs careful thought. A newly hatched chick can be fostered to another nest if the foster mother has eggs and chicks of her own. I have also fostered newly hatched chicks to a nest where the mother had eggs only as well, but at a stage where she was expecting her own eggs to be hatching too so she thought the chick was hers and fed it. You can foster chicks into nests where there are similar aged chicks. Best you dont foster any chicks that are fully feathered ( around 4 weeks ) as they are seen as an adult invading a nestbox.
  20. Some dommie pied babies in a nestbox. Two definite hens looks like. Third and youngest may be a cock. Ino sibling to my miracle chick was euthenased today. It had some serious bone development issues and it wasnt being fed as well as the other.
  21. Most people's mouse........if you hold down control on your keyboard and use the scroll wheel on your mouse back or forth you can change the size of the page you are viewing.
  22. NO. the white down indicates opaline not future feather colour. BUT if the pin feathers are white then you would be right
  23. Yes..................
