  1. Wish I could advise, but when I bought rabbits for my kids ( many, many moons ago ) I apparently bought the SCRATCHY KIND and not the CUDDLY KIND
  2. Can you get them together with a warm lamp for all as well as their medicated water ?
  3. How many cabinets will you be running Dave ?
  4. I know you would be upset over your birds and rightly so. But we did give yo0u good advice before too. I also understand you being upset, but we can also get upset at trying to help and not getting anywhere with the advice we give. Sometimes its like bashing your head against a brick wall. I hope the medicines work for you and please keep them in cages with warm lamps on them. If the meds are going to work you will see a ceasing of deaths within a few days. How many have you lost and how many do you have left ? In case you are wondering WHY you have had the reactions you have had from us.........here is some recaps from past posts. I'm not sure about the mice, sometimes I do leave their seed bag open, so I will now make sure its closed. ( CONTAMINATED FOOD ) One of the cages sits ontop of our closed sewage system One cage (I'm guessing 1.5 metres tall, and .5 metres wide) has 19 birds in it ( OVERCROWDING ) My cage with 19 has a nestbox in it ( OVERCROWDING PLUS ONE NESTBOX ) my other cage (wider but shorter) has 7 in it http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad284/k...20birds/117.jpg I have never quarantined my birds, whenever I get new ones I put them in ( NO QUARANTINE ) my dog sits under one of the cages ( BUDGIES STRESS WITH POTENTIAL PREDATORS ) my cat sits around the cages sometimes .....she just watches them ( BUDGIES STRESS WITH POTENTIAL PREDATORS ) if another one gets sick I am definatly getting him/her to the vet ( 21ST JUNE ) I will take a couple to the vet asap ( 21ST JUNE ) ITS BEEN A LONG TIME THROUGH ALL THIS AND STILL NO VET NO MATTER WHAT WE SAID. TOOK YOU TWO MONTHS TO GO TO A VET AND IT WASNT AN AVIAN VET ANYWAY SO THE TREATMENT WASNT UP TO PAR Also what are some foods, powders, treatments etc I can give them starting tomorrow that will help strengthen them and make them healthier. I really don't want to lose anymore of my babies I currently own 27 and they are spread between two big cages which sit outside the back door under the patio The answer you gave about the condies crystals was this and thats all you said. I have had about 4 die in the last four or five months. I forgot to mention that another one of my birds died tonight and the one that died before that was only last week...Adults and Babies are dying. Now I know you have reacted to what we have said in the last posts, but we gave you lots of valid advice, most of which was ignored. You said you would go to the vets and it took you two months and many losses to finally do so. You kept buying birds when you hadnt addressed the health state of the birds you had. As we advised way back of things that mattered and an avian vet earlier on would have got you on the right track meds-wise ......had you acted then things would have been under control now. NO. NO we are not. Our primary concern is the birds and always was. please understand that after the birds were initially sick the money that would have bought medicine or a vet appointment was used to purchase new birds at a time when you shouldnt have been bringing in new birds. UPSHOT fo all of this is............ Good advice has always been given to you. You ignored a good bit of it. The problem is still with you because you never addressed it properly in the first place as advised. You have a kneejerk reaction to being told by some of us that you should have listened. It wouldnt matter where you go........if you dont listen to good advice then you will find the same reactions everywhere else too. So, how about some listening and lets get these birds healthy again ?????????????????? PS dont bring in any new birds for a long time. If tempted to buy any more birds.........use the money instead to get an emergency vet fund ready or use it for medicines for a bird medicine cabinet.
  5. Better quality birds than you have ever had to put together eh, Dave Wishing you heaps of success
  6. Starting to come in...............he moulted as well
  7. Umm ...........NO
  8. GOOD ADVICE Nubbly,,,,,,, and we didnt even have to GOOGLE you
  9. well said Matt i second that glad admin didnt delete your opinion im sure i would have been slammed lol opinions need to b felt sometimes too many people dont listen on this place I am of the same opinion I am afraid
  10. well said Matt
  11. Assuming the normal cocks arent already split for opaline or cinnamon too.
  12. Make sure she also has fresh soft food especially around early morning feeds and afternoon around 4 PM. Soft food as in egg and biscuit if its easier for you, or porridge oats mixed with water and mashed egg if you can manage it. More important when she has chicks than now but also good for her as well.
  13. I can't find much on here, I tried but next to nothing comes up NUBBLY breeds fallows for show............she knows as I have said already. That why she posted in your topic. Thats why the suggestion about not using cinnamons.PS Nubbly is also a JUDGE of budgerigars at shows. Sorry, Didn't see this post. I think I understand now. Cinnamon Dilutes, and in Fallow, it would diulte to much? Its also about markings

  15. You can get coccivet at almost any bird supply store. They need warmth from lamps in hospital cage and coccivet in their water. Letting sick birds go free is introducing disease to anything they come in contact with...........not a good plan. COCCIVET needed NOW and warmth....not left in an aviary.
  16. No real need to google to research fallows as we have many experts on here. Nubbly stepped and and she breeds fallow for show. She should know.
  17. Could be any reason Jack. Was there food in its crop......if so what consistency of food ? Was the chick a normal colour ?
  18. There are some mutations you dont want cinnamon mixed through Of those GREYWING CLEARWING TEXAS CLEARBODIES FALLOWS are just some of them. Because in those varieties wing markings, and body and tail colour is IMPORTANT mixing cinnamon into it mucks all that up.
  19. Read first post. She is in the aviary and now alone.
  20. the only thing with windows is they take up valuable wall space where you may want your cabinets.
  21. If the boxes are exactly the same .......yes you can just change the box.
  22. What kind of access do you have to the nesting box, as you say nestbox one minute and cage the next so I was wondering. If the nestbox gets grotty, I get the parents out of it into the breeding cage, put the chicks into a container with bedding....clean the nestbox, add new bedding and put chicks back....all while the nestbox stays where it is.....and fairly fast so there is little disruption.
  23. The pied chicks arent all that big, but all three may be hens. The mother wasnt feeding all that well so one chick was moved out of the nest and now she has just two to care for. Parents are now a little mystery and seem to be carrying dark factor and split blue. one pied is either cobalt or violet. Colour showing on the blue is less inaccurate in the second photo One is dark green or a violet green ? The colour coming through on the green pied resembles a dark forest green colour. The other chick is grey pied. Parents Hen got out of the nest last night when the first chick hatched....chick dead this morning. All eggs cold. Moved three eggs to another nest in case they will make it. One chick made it from the ice cold eggs ...............in a foster nest.......this chick and there seems to be 4 fertile eggs or more in the parents second round. This chick on the other hand is quite large and a hen
  24. You cannot move her now. Leave her where she is till she is done raising her babies. Any major disruptions and moving right now and she will most likely abandon her eggs and nest.
  25. Not just a few sprinkled..............a lot. Like in this topic http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=22446
