Need A Bit Of Help And Advice. First Time With Breeding
How old are your birds ? Do you know their background or history ? What colour are their ceres ? Do you have a breeding cage ? How big is the cage and what style ? Where will you set them up for breeding ? Prior to breeding have you established many many months of good and varied diet including vegies ? ***Note of advice.......dont ask pet stores for any advice and never be prepared to believe what they tell you

Wont be 30 days if it still has down feathers....has to be younger.

When To Move Baby To Kindy Cage
Well if its the only chick and you are sure its fully feathered and past 4-5 weeks of age.............remove the nestbox. make sure there is food and water at ground level. Is it warm weather where you are or freezing nights ? If cold that changes all advice I just gave you. If cold weather............you have nothing to lose by putting them both in a cage together and having food at ground level in the cage for the chick. Observe closely.

When To Move Baby To Kindy Cage
Its never a fall.............they glide at that age. Kindie cages are used for breeding cage to kindie cage before out into an aviary. You may not need a kindie cage

The original owner of the images wasnt happy they were posted here without permission. They had to be removed.

What Colour?
The yellow bird could possibly be a double factor dominant pied. Are there any iris rings ? A double factor dominant pied can have an iris ring on one eye and not the other.

When To Move Baby To Kindy Cage
Changing them into a new cage might result in no feeding for the baby. You need to find out if he is being fed now anyway. How about you put some budgie seed into the nestbox now so he learns to eat. Read this http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=22446

My New Birdroom (start To Finish)
After I did my birdroom slab and erected the birdroom on top............I was told I should have done it differently due to water getting in. The idea is to put a shed on a foundation and then add the internal floor so its a higher level than the shed footings. Water doesnt run uphill. Thats exactly why when I did the new aviaries I had the exterior on footings and the floor at a higher level. As far as the whirlbird goes, thats what I was getting at about being able to shut it down over winter. Re my birdroom being on the same level as my slab............once I filled the undulations of the colourbond with cement, and tiled the birdroom there was no more leaks.

Dead Chick - What's The Cause?
I could be wrong but that cut or tear looks like it happened somehow in the egg or upon hatching and may not have been noticed once hatched. Infection would have already happened if this is the case. If it happened in the nest there would be evidence of fresh blood/ bleeding. I dont think the Dad is at fault. I dont think a Dad stepping on a baby would do that anyway as parents step all over the babies and the babies cope with it. Best not to change a nestbox drastically once there is chicks in it.

- If You Could........would You ?
Sticking point is.........if the house takes up too much of the block and its zoned R25 then they only allow building up to 50% of the block. Some bugs to iron out still re adding garage and aviaries. Town planner is on holidays- If You Could........would You ?
Its been a struggle as Ken has changed his mind back and forth every day since I posted this. We went for another visit on Saturday and the famous Cec Gearing came in his capacity as a builder to check it out for us Ken seems to have decided today to try for the house. We have the go ahead financially. I have also been told by the local glazier they would be happy for me to do all their leadlight repair work. Now all we have to do in work out some finer details and put in an offer.- My New Breeding Season

Autopsy revealed Giardia............... http://www.exoticpetvet.net/avian/giardia.html further tests revealed it had come from the town water source out of the taps - If You Could........would You ?
