New Budgies!
Well in my opinion I don't think the pet shop knows how to sex but maybe I am wrong (Laughing out loud). If the yellow one is all yellow with red eyes HE is a lutino. The cere is a very deep pink which indicates a male not a female. Also the cere will stay pink into maturity. The skyblue one look a HEN and a greywing but I am unsure since the picture is so dark. I have to say they both look like matured budgies around not babies and they look like very heavy budgies (like show budgies variety). If you can take a better picture of them without the flash if possible in the daylight or sunlight that would be good because the pics are dark and I could be totally off but this is what I see. Keep them in quarantine in a room out of hearing distance and your other budgie should be okay. If you can't do that you will find they will call to each other and it may drive you nuts BUT DON'T break quarantine which is for 30 days at least.

The iris rings comes in between 4-8 months.

Clipping Blinkie :(
I bet it is because of all the other birds too making him very naughty. Remember how naughty Pretty would get and you know before I had a chance to give him an attitude adjustment he passed away .

Clipping Blinkie :(
Clipping I know is difficult I hated doing it too. When Merlin got clipped right after Pretty died it did give him quite the attitude adjustment.

Talking Budgie?
Pretty was a boy and didn't move for months or make a sound so saying it is a hen is not always accurate. A cheep is a good sign .

Is This Behaviour Normal Or Strange?
Blow on the seeds and you will see empty husks this indicates he is in fact eating as for water it may take several months before you see him actually drink as they don't need much water. The sneezing I responded too in the other post you left. As long as the poop is not watery, is white with the black or brown dropping in the middle (sometimes green if just given veggies), but if green all the time is not normal, and it is not sticking or goey on his butt he is okay. Budgies have oil glands so when they preen they are also not only cleaning themselves but distributing the oil on their bodies. It helps their feather stay waterproof to a point, clean, condition etc..

That is all normal the poof noise is like sneezes or such that get the dusting of the millet off their beak mine too that too. The grinding is a form of contentment.

Budgies Eyes
The first one is a normal green cock and unless he has a large white spot on the back of his head then he would be a dominant pied. He will acquire his iris rings as he ages. The second one as libby had said above is a recessive pied and SHE will keep her black eye look. They are very cute.

Greywing Budgie?
I agree that is a normal grey .

What Type Are These Budgie's?
First Post with Links 1. Normal Sky blue and Yellow Face Type 2 Mauve 2. the second picture is too dark to tell what sex at least for me and would need a clearer picture to be sure about the mutation too. 3. Normal Green looks like a hen Second Post with Links 1. Normal Green look boy (not the same normal green as the other one or is it?) If you can take pictures of the front and the back in normal perching positions that would really help us out. When they are in different positions the shadowing plays a great part in not being able to see clearly. Also if you can take the picture under the natural daylight (sunlight) that will give a better reflection of the color of the cere and feather colors. The flash tends to wash out the colors and then it is difficult to tell.

Talking Budgie?
I wrote up an article on taming in the FAQ section if you would like to read through it. It was about taming my pet store budgie who was very untamed when I got him at 3 months.I have never used the tunnelling method for me I think it would scare the you know what out of them. Being grabbed like that but that is me personally. I have read people have had good luck with it. I tend to use the method I have in my article. Now Pretty it took about 6 months to warm up to me and he started to talk around 9 months. Then I got Merlin and all the talking ceased. Merlin was used to hands so there wasn't much in terms of taming. When Pretty died I let Merlin be and he came to me. Now he talks too, mimics many sounds and flys to me all the time. Sits on my shoulder, on the head etc.. I didn't force the issue and he trusts me which is wonderful. Both were clipped at the time of the beginning of training and now Merlin is completely flighted. Andrew to comment about your budgie not moving or talking Pretty did the same thing for the first 6 months and I was like what the heck but then he started to come out of his shell. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Budgies Eyes
that first budgie in the animation would be a green normal and even if it was a pied it would be a dominant and not recessive. I am thinking these 2 budgies are babies.

Budgies Eyes
how old are your birds? They sound like babies.

Budgies Eyes
The white you are referring to is the iris ring that you can see. In varieties such as the Dark Eye Clears, Recessive Pieds (for example) you will not be able to see the iris ring giving them the look of dark black eyes such as my Pretty in my signature. Other varieties such as the normals, spangles, dominant pieds (for example) will have the visible iris ring that can range from very light to not as light. If you post a picture of your birds we can help you determine their variety. Also babies budgies do not have visible iris rings depending on the variety as they get older usually around 4 months and up you will start to see the iris ring becoming more visible.

Coconut Toys
Very cool Bea. I have one like that too. I used to put dry type of food in it for the birds the only thing is it wasn't very stable so a lot feel to the ground.

Weird Looking Feathers....
Feathers dusters show up in the nest pretty quick. Daz had one and there is a topic. So please lets not assume or panic . As Kaz requested a picture that would be best. It could be a nutritional disorder or a feather disorder but with out seeing pictures we can only assume.

Talking Budgie?

Our Newest Additions
They can't be split but because it is on a different allele they could be a Dominant Pied Spangle (so the genes can be co-dominant and both visual just like other dominant genes). I think a better shot of the front of the baby in question would be wonderful to see if there is any pied patterns but remember Merlin only has a big spot on the back of his head other then that he looks like a normal from the front so even that couldn't determine if it is the spangle spot or the pied spot or heck why can't it be a combination spot from both the spangle/d. pied gene?
