  1. I agree with hen, cute birds , I love the first picture have you thought of entering your pics for May Budgie of the Month, if not you should they are cute .
  2. I am assuming you mean to tell the difference if you want to know genetic differences let me know. Dark Eye Cleared: no iris ring, male cere stays pink Double Factor Spangle: iris ring with regular colored eyes, male cere will change to blue Lutino/Ino: Iris ring with red eyes, male cere stays pink You can click on this link to see the member's different mutations, find those 3 mutations to see the difference visually. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=14564 Double Factor x Double Factor will = all Double Factor of that gene here you are saying Spangle Double Factor Spangle to Dark Eyed Clear (combo of a recessive pied & clearflight pied): I believe I am doing this right I am not completely sure but the DFS would have to have the recessive pied gene also to have more DEC because they would need 1 from each parent As for the DF spangle, you would also have normals, clearflights, and single factor spangles and there could be combinations with the different mutation. I am sure there is someone more into % then I that can tell you that.
  3. excellent :hap:, I wasn't sure that is why I said something.
  4. Very cool...are there any pictures you can post, would they allow?
  5. Oh boy Liv, I am so sorry :hap:
  6. before you put them in the aviary you need to make sure you quarantine them from your other birds for at least 30 days to ensure they don't have any underlying illness. They are very beautiful, congrats.
  7. Vicky they so remind me of Pretty and Merlin together :budgiedance: wonderful wonderful shots I really love the first flying shot, they are all so good.
  8. congrats, if anyone deserves the job you do
  9. Oh boy what is wrong Liv? In the U.S. you wouldn't find that we would end up having to use the regular ER animal clinic and hope for the best.
  10. yep that is when they get into trouble when they scavage that is what my Brandy (who is in heaven), did until the day he died (Laughing out loud)
  11. you ladies/gents are killing me with cuteness overload....how how cute cute....are all these pictures.
  12. not sure where you are in the US but you can do a google for budgie breeders and see if you can find more in your area too...
  13. questions so what is this bird really? why is he split for recessive pied? that spot is pretty big I thought it was determined a large spot is a dominant pied? The dad I believe does have the larger spot too.
  14. nice birds, the first one almost looks cobalt and not sky blue I know there are variations in colors and pictures are hard to show blues, so you know best , I love the Yellow Face.
  15. You have received good advice and all that I agree with especially the clipping of wings. I had the same thing happened to me Pretty was getting very bonded with me and then I got Merlin and I was chopped liver. I look at it and think well he would rather be a bird and with a bird then with me (Laughing out loud) so it is natural for this to happen. It is part of having 2 vs just 1 anyways, working with them together on a daily basis using the tricks that I outline in my FAQ article under Taming your Budgie and with patience you will see results. . Don't give up because they will get more untame. Welcome.
  16. thank you for sharing Daz, I know this is a hard lesson to learn and even harder to publically tell everyone what happened but because of you we all learned something new today and yet how to keep our birds safe, hugs.
  17. excellent experience and thoughts Daz, I love reading it!
  18. they are beautiful the whole gang, word of caution corn on the cob is very dangerous for dogs becaue they can't digest the cob chucks (if they did chew on them and swallow them) and it can cause blockage, I saw this on Animal Precident where they found a dog starved to death and the cause with corn on the cob (plus owner not taking to the vet -- and I know that is not you), but I would have never realized a corn on the cob could cause that much damage.
  19. cute, I am always amazed too how fast they grow myself it is amazing
  20. they all look wonderful great job Dave
