  2. beautiful, since we came back from vacation our flowers (and weeds ) have really taken off, our tomato plants I swear grew 2 inches in 1 week it is incredible, what heat, humidity and rain can do to a garden, it grows in front of your eyes it seems.
  3. very pleased to hear the improvement, it is amazing what mirrors or anything reflective can do to a bird it is an addition for them, once removed they are in a much healthier mind set for sure.

very beautiful birds, good thing you inspected them when you got home, a good quarantine, food and treatment and they will all be back in good health.

Fuel is absolutely terrible, it is around $5.00 to every 10g of gas here so around $4.00 as we drove through different states on our vacation the highest was 4.12 in Pennslyviania and the lowest was 3.79 in North Carolina, it doesn't make it feasible for a road trip, I am glad we went when we did because the gas is going to be even higher, I feel for those people with their trucks they are paying a bundle, the goverment is going to have to do something or driving will only be for the rich very soon.
  7. congrats, I am interested to see how her babies turn out.
  8. how wonderful, you must take pics of some of your rescues and keep us posted on what you come across, certainly a learning experience for you and you can transfer on to us
  9. Welcome to the forum.
  10. Horses have always been a special animal in my heart, next to dogs I absolutely love them and find them a fasinating creature, it is beautiful model, thank you for sharing.
  11. that is interesting, but rare yes?
  12. Birds actually preen most of their day so you may think he only does it when you are there but I guarantee he is doing it when you are not. Budgies don't get fleas but they can get mites especially if they came from more of an aviary setting or live in an aviary setting at your home. There is mite spray but I don't recommend using it unless you know for a fact your bird has mites.
  13. they are lovely

    Very good to hear!
  15. yes but it doesn't cover the explanation that a lot of people don't know
  16. Dr Nat is right, Bea's bird ended up having this and needed avian care.
  17. Very interesting Derek, thanks for posting

I have a feeling it is both she is in season and you are her mate and she is protecting you, decreasing the light should help, increase cover time for one week by 2-4 hours more and you should see a difference.
  19. that 3rd picture is so cute, you should enlarge it and add it to the Budgie of the Month for July
  20. Lacewing can be either series a Lacewing is a Lutino Cinnamon or an Albino Cinnamon Gene together. Ino are blue series birds with the blue erased and there is no cinnamon gene involved Lutino's are green series birds with the green erased and there is no cinnamon gene involved The female must be split for the blue gene that is the only way you would get an INO (blue series baby) because both parents have to carry the blue gene. As for the cinnamon if they are both lacewings you would have 100% lacewing but what series green or blue would be determined if the birds are BOTH carrying the blue series gene.
  21. Here is the explanation of both explained in our FAQ section, if it is vomiting you will need to schedule an AVIAN Vet Appointment. Reguritation vs Vomiting Regurgitation looks just like when the cockbird is feeding either babies or hen. They are bringing it up into their throat to feed others. They arch their head and neck and then bob their heads up and down to bring the food up. Regurgitation is an up and down movement. This is a normal behavior. Read more: Why does my budgie regurgitate for me (or another object)? Vomiting is a bit stronger like convulsive and the bird shakes it head side to side and splatters the vomit. Vomiting is a sideways shaking of the head. If your bird if vomiting you need to call your Avian Vet immediately this is a sign of sickness.
  22. It would be also good to know what the dad is, it looks like an INO Lacewing possibly, I see light markings on the second picture, yellow = green series bird which is yellow, white (which is what your bird is) blue series bird = white I assume the male was a blue series bird and was split or is a cinnamon?
  23. are you promoting a breeder? or a pet shop? Cheap birds are nice but not always in the best of health, can you tell us more please. Thank you.
