How Can I Tell The Difference?
Here is one: How can I tell the difference between an Olive (bird with 2 dark factors) vs a GreyGreen (a bird green series bird with the added factor grey)? Olives have dark blue/purple cheek patches and black-blue tails. Grey-greens have silver grey patches and black tails. If that's the case.. I guess that would make him an olive. Olive is a bird with 2 dark factors - in green it goes light green with no dark factors, dark green with 1 dark factor, and olive with 2 dark factors. Dark factors are inherited from their parents based on what color they are.. and how many they have. Grey-green is when a green bird inherits a grey gene from it's parents. In blue birds, a bird that gets a grey gene would be grey.

How Can I Tell The Difference?
I think this would be a good topic for the FAQ's but I need all your help....what bird mutations look very similar but there are slight characteristics that can distinquish them. So I would like the experts to help me out with the answers and we will get this into 1 topic under the FAQs. How can I tell the difference between a Lutino/Ino and a Dark Eyed Clear (DEC) or a Double Factor Spangle? You can leave your question or answer the questions put here...thank you... I am going to PIN for a temporary until we have all our answers then I will unpin and put as 1 document in the FAQ's OH and pictures welcome if you have an example of say an INO vs a DEC

Tropical Fish
Liv, I love the betta too, I had 1 and my daughter got a goldfish from school put them in together and the goldfish picked the **** out of the betta he ended up dying now I have a goldfish and a pleco that are HUGE and I don't enjoy them much anyways off topic...that would be a pretty tank for to have 1 in there. They are actually very peaceful fish with others and are good community fish. Just not with 2 males together.

New Bubs
They are both very young and beautiful Karen. I think you are right about it being a hen the olive one she is beautiful. I love the olives and grey greens they are are my favorite in the green series. The dominant looks like a male as Liv said he is very handsome. Congrats on your finds.

How Close To The Kitchen Is okay?
Here is an interesting article too on Teflon Article to Read CLICK One of the points I do want to point out from the article "You may be thinking that you only use your nonstick pots and pans at low temperatures so you will be safe. Don't make that assumption. A day may come when you may accidently leave a pan on a hot burner, or your kids or someone helping you out at a party may not know and cook something at a high temperature and by the time the mistake is realized it may be too late. " This topic like others are debatable, you do what is best with your circumstance, the best thing you can do is take the information and then do what is best for your bird in your own household.
