  1. I am praying he gets better for you Cara, I am very surprised he lasted this long he is a figher. You have been given good advice but I am wary about this vet's advice personally. This is a good time to consider starting to have a little saving account going for your birds when these things happen since your grandpa doesn't want to pay for anymore. he really needs more testing especailly the poop smear which is really not that expensive (at least in the US it is not). ((hugs))
  2. he is a cutie .
  3. Cara this doesn't sound like an Avian Vet? What exactly happened at the vets office, what procedures did she take and tests?

  5. You can also increase her cover hours for 1 week to 12-14 hours, that reduces the hormones in play.

  9. The stool sample is inexpensive and if you can find an avian vet asap they can do that for you, it will give you some answers especially if it is mega.
  10. black mean he is not drinking enough yes, I would encourge him to drink, Liv is right he needs to be seen by an Avian Vet but the tests I won't lie to you may be costly you are going to have to discuss this with the vet.
  11. We also have a fanastic guide in our FAQ section under the Mutations, it was created by one of our members ravengypsy that I find very helpful.
  12. I would leave the poopy bum until he feels better stressing him out like that or getting him wet will make him cold and sicker. Keep him warm constantly and him quiet and let him sleep. Find out what the temperature of the room is it should be 75F. What color are his poops just a quick indiction that if it is only white he isn't eating enough and only black he is not drinking. I would say continue to give him the ACV.
