Yes Do you have your alarm set to a radio to go off?
  2. Leadbeater's Cockatoo, Cacatua leadbeateri - Also known as the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo. Generally regarded as one of the most attractive cockatoos, being mainly pink with a large, spectacularly colored crest, these birds are available in the US, but rare and, being highly in demand, rather expensive. I've seen them as low as $2,000 each, but around $3,000 is more common. http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Vines/.../cockatoos.html The bigger parrots are very pricey here in the U.S.
  3. I am sorry to hear about this mishap. In reality, budgie water needs to be cleaned daily be it in a cage, avairy, breeding pairs etc....daily clean water is essential.
  4. that is wonderful
  5. Pixie(hen) is a sky blue recessive pied greywing, and Asterix(cock) is a olive recessive pied 100% recessive pieds 100% greens unless Astreix is split to blue and then you will have 50% blues & 50% greens what type of blues or greens will depend on how many dark factors you will probably have cobalts & dark greens If Astreix is split for greywing you have a 50% change of greywing 50% no greywing BUT if he is not split then you will have NO greywings from this pair. Aria(hen) is a light green recessive pied i'm not sure what Galbatorix(cock) is. He has a golden face, then his body is mottled green and blue. 100% Greens unless Aria is split for blue then you will have 50% chance blues & 50% greens If you have blues they should all have Yellowface Type 2 or GoldenFace Type 2 gene like their dad that is what he is, he is a blue series bird with a YF2 or GF2 gene spreading through the blue making him look mottled. Batman(hen) is a normal grey, and Yoda(cock) is a slate/mauve opaline. If Batman is a double factor Grey you will have all Grey chicks if Batman is a Single Factor Grey you will have 50% Greys and 50% Blues. Your bird is a mauve most likely not slate which is a different gene completely, mauve is when a blue series bird carries 2 dark factors. A females will be opalines from the dad and males will be normals split to opaline. Bones and Ghost Domanant Grey Pieds 100% Dominant Pieds I think you will have 50% blue and 50% grey if they are both single factor greys if double factor greys both parents the offspring is 100% greys and if one is a SF and one is a DF you have 25% blue and 75% Greys (someone will correct me if I am wrong). In every nest there are hidden genes that may come out that are sex-linked by the cock or recessive traits that both parents carry but don't express so so for some surprises those are fun. Good luck.
  6. Excellent question, here is an article it is generalized for parrots http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-behavior-a...y-language.aspx and here is a budgie specific one http://users.tpg.com.au/stirlo69/PetBudgie...ourTraining.htm
  7. I can't remember sadly When is the last time you got your hair cut?
  8. Hmm...good suggestion Dave when I add to Merlin's water I got the reaction of yuck and it was very diluted. I would assume you could get it at any store that sells organic foods.
  9. sorry for your loss hugs
  10. See Neat I was told it could be on say normal to dilute but not to greywing or clearwing http://www.budgieplace.com/gen_dilution.html

and if they lay eggs you can addle them and discard them if you find a couple. Good luck on your move.

I think that is why I could never get myself into a breeding situation with any type of pet (that is one reason) I can't stand to part with them. You can always be strong and let go to the right person that always make you feel better but never stop caring which I can't imagine you would ever do pie .
  15. Keep us updated.
  16. We are a pretty tough group of mods we can handle it , I hope and pray that everyone here if they had an issue would go directly to that person or discuss it first and I have not found any of your post anymore offense then usually (joke joke...laughter to follow)...anyways you know we LOVE YOU!! I am glad Jake is okay...I know that was your worry when you posted the post but you know what I would have done the same EXACT thing in your shoes if that happened to my "family member". If you need anything you know were to find me.
  17. Kaz is right and the more you do it the easier it will be and you have will well rounded parents and chicks from the handling.
  18. Tiring work but I am sure worth it in the end , look forward to pics.
  19. You don't know what they want for them in the U.S. thousands....

congrats , a little work and it will be all ready.
  22. I think I am getting confused, Sunny Boy's Grandson is a double factor spangle, not Sunny Boy himself correct....you are saying Sunny Boy and his Spangle Wife had normals yes that is possible. In fact Neville, explains it here perfectly on why everything came out the way it did. :party0011:.
  23. Elly replied to Elly's topic in Competitions
LOL No...long story about the cop car I was young and dating my now husband :party0011:, I was a good girl. Do you smoke? (cigarettes)
  24. 2 Single Factor Spangles or 1 Single Factor x Double Factor Spangle can not have normals. If they had normals did you have any other bird that she was in contact with? The only way they could have normals is if they were both Single Factor Spangles.
  25. :party0011: :party0011: :party0011: GREAT NEWS
