She's very pretty.. The eggs are so tiny. What color is Dad?

Beautiful. The parents are very pretty. I look forward to watching them grow. Best of luck.
  4. He was trying to find the other budgie captive in the speaker. Very cute picture. He sounds like a great guy.
  5. That's great.. I was thinking they were trying to see is they could make a heart. :hap: or maybe some new budgie dance craze.
  6. Just a guess.. but female. Young females will have lighter (whitish) rings around their nostrils. Males will be more uniform pink.. or even purplish. Both males and females can be great pets.. so I don't worry too much over gender.
  7. I see a few that look alot like her around. Normally they have more markings on their wings. She only has 2 dark feathers on her right wing. I never really thought of it when I picked her out.. I liked her personality - still do at times.. she's pretty daring.
  8. Yeah.. he's getting pretty used to me.. That's what you meant right ? :rip:
  9. He's not normally this animated when the camera's around. I like this picture. Oh.. and here's a cute picture of this one. :rip:

  12. I love the pics of that little sweetie. She could be an opaline. That would be interesting. She'll be a beauty either way.
  13. Hi.. Welcome. I hope you'll post some pictures of your birds and some more about them. I'm not a breeder so can't really help you there. For names, how about Patches for the male? Darcy for the female.. maybe.
  14. Very nice Lovey. I have to get around to making a new one. The beastie is still a baby in mine.
  15. Well done Bea.. Congratulations Blinks.
  16. Very nice cage. I'm sure your birds will love it.
  17. Ummm... Lovey.. when are you moving in? (Laughing out loud)
  18. I love seeing the changes - I had 2 recessive pieds before like yours Lovey.. and they barely change at all. Pretty, my grey budgie, was a retired breeder with a bad wing (it had never healed properly from an old break) when I got him so I never got to see him as a baby.. and I never really knew how old he was.

You sure must be excited about getting your budgie. True, you must be careful to use bird-safe materials. Have you spoken to the breeder you mentioned yet? Do you know what color you would like if you have a choice?
  20. Lani.. do you know what color you'd like to get when you get a budgie?
  21. It sounds like the baby could be a Creamino based on the description. That's a yellowface type 2 albino right?
  22. I don't know how quick albinos and lutinos are to feather, but I would guess that they should be like any other budgies. You can get an albino or lutino from 2 normal colored birds. Somewhere in your male bird's genes there was an ino gene. For example, if his mother was a lutino he would be split for lutino meaning that he could have babies that are lutino (females). The gene would have definately come from your male bird in this instance as both albino and lutino are sex linked traits.

Let us know how it goes with the babies/eggs.. and post some pictures if you can. Good luck .
  25. Beautiful budgies.. How do you handle having that many birds? I have 3 now and that's getting pretty crazy. I'm think that Pretty Boy is begging to come and live with me.
