Just was giving Mig a few snuggles and thought id take and post some more pictures of him for you.. This was the only way i could manage to take a picture of his belly to sort of show his colouring.. Peeking out.. This shot shows his wings and his nice white flight feathers :ausb: If i was to label him, what would i call him? to me he is a yellow and white budgie with blue splodges Maybe i should have asked this question in the genetics etc forum :budgiedance: Oh Bold and the Beautifuls on, better scoot Cheers  Una
  2. :budgiedance: AWWWW what a cutie and your dog is a hoot (Laughing out loud) i think me may give it away only a little bit :ausb:

Sounds really great, id love to see some pictures of the building progress and of course the end result
  5. I just went scrounging through the girls bedrooms but was only able to find a few small marble's, I was wondering if there would be any difference in using a polished stone? I have a few that are roundish and a little bigger than a budgie egg but unsure if it would hold warmth any different? Okay ive picked out 3 stones that i could possibly use, do you think one is better than the other or could i add a couple or should they be more round? Cheers I have been outside and had a look.. she has 4 more eggs, and i have added the little stone thingys, I put in two to try and make more room and give any chicks a chance to survive under her. I was worried the stones would scare her and put her off but i had them stashed down my bra for AGES before putting them in and when i checked in on her about 20 minutes later she was sitting on them all .. WHOOOT Im excited now and fingers crossed it will all be okay..
  6. Daz is there anything else i can use instead? I don't have a pet store close, well the closest is 900ks away She has 4 or 5 more eggs left yet to hatch (gosh i cant even remember with the shock of loosing my little one ) ... Thank you for the help and kind words, i feel horrible and i'm almost not game to go back out and check in the box although i know i should .. Cheers Una

What sad news... Take peace in knowing Chico will now be happy and painfree flying over the rainbow bridge and i also commend you on your decision to find your other budgie a new loving home, It would have been a hard call to make but i'm sure you have made the right decision
  8. When Apple and Munchy heard the "strange" giggling, they came running over to take a peek, then when your birds started chirping Munchy did a mixture of fart sounds, whistling and dancing while poor Apple just sat there stunned and shaking Thats a cute video and your bird certainly gets alot of excercise doing that :(Laughing out loud): Cheers  Una
  9. Hehee I think Apple wants to work in Hollywood when he grows up
  10. Hugz and Welcome back Karen.. Cant wait to meet your new little one and see pictures to update us on the rest of the gang Cheers  Una
  11. Lin im convinced now he has gone, the bruising down his back is not a good thing, the blood has pooled in the areas that he was laying on.. and NO movement what so ever He is now not keeping heat and has gone stiff. id say hes passed over for sure now.. Its so horrible when you are just not sure and dont want to risk removing it "just incase" although you know its gone Ciao lil budgie dude
  12. I went out and picked him up... hope i never have to do that bit again... He was toasty warm as mum was sitting on him, but she had just trod all over him rubbing his little face all into the bottom of the box so it was covered in yuck, there is no movement and no noises at all, his little body was all twisted where mum had been knocking him about I think ive lost this little one
  13. Hmm maybe i need to take up this habit too
  14. I noticed a little chick in my blue budgies nesting box this morning and i was thinking YAY! but i just went outside and had a peek and the little one was belly up on its back flat out like a pancake, its crop was full but it has a purpleish bruising all down its back as if its passed away, i'm not 100% sure and just needed some reassurance before i removed it. If it was alive it would be moving even slightly at a day old wouldn't it? and they don't just get bruising for the sake of having a bruise do they? and if i was looking closely id see its chest/tummy rise and fall with breathing wouldn't I? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP I think i know in my heart its gone but i just need to really be sure, i havent had a dead chick before

Hello and Welcome.. Your birds are way cute and id have to agree with Bea on the sex of them, look like a male and female from here too ... My birds Apple and Munchy love baths once a day but there is no need to do it anymore than a few times a week, I think mine feel the heat and love the cool down, sometimes their little feeties feel so hot Look forward to seeing you about and hearing about and seeing more pictures of Hobbes and Claire. Cheers  Una

  18. Apple and Munch have had this on occasion but its only been when they have been playing silly buggers and all their feathers are all over the place and covering their vents, could this have been a factor? :hap:
