Pips Photo
What a little cutie. My little budgie boy is called Pippin and he gets called Pip or Pippy. He tends to get his full Sunday name when he's being naughty I'm sure whatever name you choose to go with will suit the little munchkin.

I Can't Draw Or Paint,
Well done, that's pretty impressive. I would have loved that when I was a little girl.

Thanks Elly, yes it does. I'm hoping he produces a few more, the colours are stunning around his tail, but the camera doesn't pick it up enough.

Now that's where you lose me, I'm sooooo ignorant with genetics and unfortunately, the breeder I got him from no longer breeds due to ill health so I can't check it out. It will be interesting to see how many more blue feathers come through. I don't think he was too kean on having his butt captured on camera for all to see :(Laughing out loud):

Do they do feather dye for budgies

Changing Colour
He has some coming through on his chest, but they're not as obvious as the ones in the pics and dont show up on the camera. I'm surprised as these have only just appeared in the last week or so.

Yes, he still has his white vent feathers, the blue feathers are on the outer area

Thanks. I will try and get some pictures today, although it won't be that easy as he isn't too keen on the camera.

Changing Colour
Pippin is going through a heavy moult at the moment, but I noticed yesterday that he has started to get blue feathers coming through near his bum. I have also noticed what looks like very faint blue stripes across his chest. He is coming up to three years old and I can't say I have ever noticed these feathers before. I'm not that well up on genetics but I think Pippin is what is called a normal green. Is it possible for a change in some feather colours to happen or is it that they are more noticeable due to the moult :budgiedance:
