The pictures of two (green and white) i did not use a flash, the pictures of the blue im pretty sure i did use the flash. The white bird does have blue between her wings in the back and around her legs her beak is orange and her legs are pink (i don't know if that makes a difference). The green is very light as it is almost yellow to match her head and the grey on her wings is light and are edged in yellow. Besides the flash, the picture of the blue bird is a good representation of what she looks like.

Wow what a story... poor thing was probably scared to death. I think it was truly a miracle that you got her back. I still cant believe you got her out of a tree and back into the cage, props to you.

I've been reading through a lot of posts to try and figure out my budgie's colors but i don't think i have a very good grasp for all the genetics. If possible could someone tell me their proper color names... don't have the best pics of these two Thanks

What is your stand on nail trimming do you do it your self or do you go to the vet's? How often does it need to be done? And any other advice on this subject would be appreciated.

I have had Coconut for a while now but i just got a new digital camera so i can finally take some pictures of her. Though i can't get a picture of her without chiquita... Both being wary of the camera. Hiding from the camera in their palm tree, Where's Chiquita?

What does the iodine block do for them?

What is your opinion on mineral blocks? Are they necessary or not? Are flavored ones good for budgies and if so what flavor do they like best? I've always kept a cuttle bone in the cage but recently i bought a cuttle bone that was kind of embedded into a mineral block (strawberry flavored), a 2 in 1 deal... just wanted to know everyone's views on it.

There is another product that they sell in the US it's called Kaytee wood pellets. They're excruted wood pellets that are safe for birds and small animals, the birds can even chew them up and destroy them. They absorb 3 times their weight and keep the cage odors down... i work at a petsmart here and its what we use in all of our bird cages.

My first budgie (Blue) sounded like he was sneezing all the time not long after i bought him. Then when i noticed that his cere was turning brownish and crusty i took him to the vet, but the vet said it was nothing. He still sneezed after that and the crustiness went away. Then it came back again a while later. My second bird (Chiquita) since around Christmas, her cere started to change color and turn crusty and has been sneezing, i thought maybe she caught watever Blue had. Recently (Eater time) Blue died and im not sure why. He was only like 2 maybe three (i don't know how old he was when i bought him). Any help would be great, i dont know if im being paranoid or something is really wrong. P.S. Im not real sure of their sexes, its just how i refer to them.
