Posted September 29, 200519 yr I was helping someone earlier with sharing her videos and decided I would share here too for anyone who might be confused. I wasn't sure where to put this so I hope it's okay here (since this is where most people post links to their videos)! Other than actually getting the video onto your computer, the first step is to shrink it to a reasonable file size. To do this, I use Windows Movie Maker as it comes free with Windows XP. You can find it by going to Start --> All Programs--> Accessories--> Windows Movie Maker If you don't have this program you can download it from download.com here. Open Windows Movie Maker and drag the video file into the "collection" area. You can also go to File-->Open Project and locate the file there. Drag the file onto the timeline. One the left you should see the Movie Tasks pane. (If not, go to View--> Task Pane to display it.) Click on "Save to my Computer" in the task pane. Enter a name for the movie file in the first box. In the second box, choose where you want to save your movie. Click Next and then click the bubble beside "Other Options." I usually choose Video for Broadband (340 kps) but you may have to experiment before you find what you like best. Just remember that the higher the quality, the longer it's going to take to download so you need to find a happy medium. Click Next and Movie Maker will save the file to the location you specified earlier. Now that you have the file saved, you have to upload it. Here are a few links to free video hosting sites: Google's Video Upload Program I've never used this one but usually Google has pretty cool stuff. Putfile.com I've seen several people use this one so it seems pretty good. Zippyvideos.com I haven't heard much of this one either but it seemed popular during my search. If none of those links are good for you just do a google search for "free video hosting" or something to that effect. And if anyone has a favorite hosting site, please share because I get asked about this all the time and until today, never knew what to recommend!
