Posted June 16, 201114 yr Hello all, I am brand new the BBC forum and new to breeding budgies. I am interested in owning and breeding show budgies. Am buying three or four pairs at the Mudgeerabah Budgie Show this weekend. I have purchased an aviary 2mLx 1.5mW x 2mH. I have also purchased two triple breeding cabinets. My question relates to the placement of the breeding cages. Are these best mounted on shelves in the aviary or kept separate from the aviary. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also any informationon purchasing show budgies in SE QLD or Northern NSW would be great. Thanks in advance
June 16, 201114 yr Breeding cages are best housed separately to your aviary. Most people set up a breeding room or space from a shed or room thats suitable.....leaving budgies in the aviary to fly and have fun and you then select the breeding pairs from the aviary to put together in your breeding cabinets. Trying to have breeding cabinets in an aviary and spare budgies flying about wont work out.
