I got a whole bunch of paddle pop sticks as a prize for trivia on another forum a couple of months ago and have been meaning to make some toys with them. Today i went to a craft store and got some wooden childrens beads and some little bells and got to work making a variety of toys.

(same as one higher up but with cotton string instead of sisal)

And here's my helper...although i wouldn't go as far as saying he was super helpful. He spent the time i worked pulling my earrings and hissing at all the toys i made. :P

wow Bea, Those looks good!! I bet they'll all love it!!

Though I have a little concern. Those children's beads colouring, do you know how they painted it and also is it polished? I am wondering if it's toxic to bird or not... :P

I was wondering that too but it appears to be the same stuff as some blocks on another toy i have, if they chew the beads i'll probably take them out but i doubt they will. I really wanted to get a bag of plastic pony bead (just plain plastic beads) but NOWHERE has them. :P Does anyone know where i can find some?

Also, make sure the sticks are colored with food dye. I usually buy the plain ones and color them myself or you can order ones from bird toy parts sites that use food dye instead of harmful paints.
