My Budgie Thinks He Is A Statue
It sounds like your budgie has a unique personality! If your budgie is sitting still for long periods and "posing" like a statue, it could be a sign of comfort and trust in its environment. Budgies sometimes exhibit this behaviour when they feel safe and at ease. However, if the stillness seems excessive or unusual for your bird, it might be worth checking for any signs of illness, such as lethargy, puffed-up feathers, or changes in eating and drinking habits.

Help - Budgie Chasing And Biting
Birds tend to target others they perceive as weak, often singling out those that are sick or injured. This behavior may stem from a survival instinct, as weaker individuals can be seen as easier targets or a potential threat to the health of the flock. The aggression towards vulnerable birds could also be a way of ensuring that the stronger, healthier members of the group thrive. This natural dynamic can be tough to witness, but it's a part of how birds maintain balance within their social structures.

Help Estimate Appearance
Alright heres the deal, i'm sort of new to the actual science of figuring out what a bird may look like before it's even hatched. I have a mated pair and I allowed them to breed as I have room for a larger flock, father is wild type/normal green and mother is green series double factor aka a banana. I'm trying to figure out what the chicks may look like. Anyone with a bigger brain than mine able to help?

Budgie Jumps On Hand And Bites/nibbles Constantly
Every budgie has its own personality, so it's important to remember that my insights might not apply to your bird. Hormonal changes can influence behavior, but three months is still relatively young for those effects to fully manifest. It's worth observing your budgie over time to understand its unique quirks and needs!

My Budgie Thinks He Is A Statue
If your budgie appears to be staying completely still, it could be engaging in a behavior called "freezing" or remaining motionless for long periods. This can indicate curiosity, alertness, or even stress. Budgies may do this while observing their environment or when they feel threatened. To ensure your bird feels safe and comfortable, make sure its surroundings are secure and provide plenty of stimulation and social interaction. If this behavior continues or is paired with other signs of stress, it’s a good idea to consult an avian vet to check for any health issues.
