To my success I found one rather quickly entitled "The Budgerigar Program" Now, this isn?t a free program, it costs $55.00 US dollars for a new installation, BUT there is a trial version (I?m using it) that will hold up 200 records for free. Plenty for some members here. But if you want more, you will have to pay. Its worth it! It does nest box cards, calculations and all kinds of cool stuff! (also allows you to snap a photo of your bird and enter it with your records if wanted. As mentioned, the Budgerigar Program is very comprehensive. All manner of reports can be run, ranging from simple inventory listings by sex, variety and colour through to preferred pairings and common ancestry. The Budgerigar Program calculates inheritance levels, provides breeding records and generates pedigree charts. Each of these may be viewed on the screen or printed. Other extremely useful features include the provision to score each bird against the "Ideal" in the various areas such as Colour, Size, Deportment, Mask and Spots etc. In theory, this would allow the fancier to do his pair selection without actually looking at the birds themselves - not something I think I would recommend. Feather type is also included as a separate category against each bird. Some Screenshots: Here Take a look at it at this link and if you want to download the 200 max record trial version (doesnt expire, just alows a max of 200 records of budgies) you can get that here :ygbudgie: Link to comment https://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?/topic/4648-the-budgerigar-program/

Guest Spankster.D
Thanks! These instructions aren't as clear as possible, I didn't know I had to extract the 6 files before extracting the setup file. Anyways one of the files is corrupted and I've tried downloading it again to no use. Oh well, I've emailed the owner for help, it looks like an extremely good program! Guest Nodders
Yeah I bought the full program , the 2006 one from the Doncaster show last week , after being shown what it can do I thought it was an invaluable tool if you intend to keep budgies for a number of years . One person there who bought one when I did had kept budgies for 40 years and kept all his records , he could'nt wait to get it all on his pc  , probably take 40 years to type it out Link to comment https://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?/topic/4648-the-budgerigar-program/#findComment-149225

Guest featherhead1351
Hoy Cowabungas! I am totally in love with both of these programs! I read about them on another post but didnt' look at them at that time. I looked at both today and wow is it hard to make up my mind!!! I love the look and feel of the budgie program but enjoy the additional breed capability of the bird tracker. I may just have to get both to see which one will work best. What would be really cool (and perhaps I just havent run across the feature yet) is to scan in the dna mappings for the birds so that I don't have to keep track of the paper work!!! Guest moorebirds
Yep, you got me curious so I went and download TBP2006 and I agree its good. I've been using Bird Rec 7 which is pretty good also, so I'll probably run both programs, although I do find TBP2006 connects Breeding and Nests better. Another good program but very basic is Aviary Manager. Link to comment https://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?/topic/4648-the-budgerigar-program/#findComment-164327

It's great. I just got sent my newest birds pedigrees going back 6-7 generations so its great what that program can do. Off now to do some inputting of legrings and mutations etc. Edited April 5, 2007 by Kaz Link to comment https://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?/topic/4648-the-budgerigar-program/#findComment-169327
